Next week I have my Admin Law Judge hearing I have an attorney but have some questions. Background I am 70% PTSD and am IU so 100% VA. I don't know what to expect during the hearing. My attorney is worried about the financial situation with VA and FERS disability retirement thinking it will be hard for the judge to grant benefits. What should I expect at the hearing? What questions are they going to ask? The attorney said the judge is a tough one. Do I need to bring anything?

What region are you in for your SSA?
I was in the Portland, Oregon region when I went to ALJ.
AND, I was on WTU wages (AD). Do a search on this site and read what others have gone through during this ALJ SSDI
If you are approved, PLEASE go to your CPA BEFORE you spend one single nickel of your SSDI retro check.
Tell your CPA - show then your award letter from SSDI and the TAX reutrns for those years that cover your SSDI retro pay and this years, too.
You could find out that SSDI overpaid you. If you haven't spent the money - no problems. Fix it with your CPA and the SSA and IRS and move on.
If you are approved for SSDI and you get a retro check, DO NOT SPEND IT UNTIL YOU SEE YOUR CPA.
DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONTHLY SSDI FOR 2015 UNTIL YOU GET THE OK FROM YOUR CPA.

BUT SSDI CAN GIVETH AND THE IRS CAN TAKETH AWAY.
