I met with my neurologist, his report is stating that I'm having 3 major seiures and an unspecified amount of minors. I have them at night while I'm sleeping. I met with JAG today and they to.d me that the board will probably put me on a TDRL and observe to see if I get better. I have scarring in my brain that is causing the seizures. Every time I meet with someone I get a different answer. What is the likelyhood of me getting medically retired. That is all I really care about. Anyone heard of a case like mine?

My apologies, the number of seizures noted above is monthly.mi have 3 majors and an unspecified number of minors, monthly.

Sounds likely that you would be retired. That said, that depends on you being found unfit in the first place (in the absence of more information, this seems likely, too).

Everyone I have spoken to along my process seems to think there is ZERO chance of me being found fit.

Hey,

I've served with two people with seizure issues that have been separated. One of them only had 3 total seizures (2 before he was taken off the ship) who was retired, I think put on TDRL, with 50 or 60%. I have since lost touch with him.

The second colleague of minewas having about 3-6 seizures a month, and a shoulder injury (constantly dislocating as a result of falling while having a seizure). He was put on the TDRL with 80% combined for both injuries.

How do I continue to document the my night seizures whiler on TDRL so that they do not drop my %. Assuming that I revieve a %.

NavyFC,
Thank you for shedding some quality light on this painstakingly negative process.

Im new here also, an Army Vet who only got to serve 2 years because developing Epilepsy over in Japan. The Amy awarded me 10% and a separation pay of $1,200. After an examination with the VA and still having multiple seizures, license suspended for 6 months, they moved me up to 40%. I got out taking 1 medication, now I take 3 twice a day. After an MRI and EEG, they said it was coming from both sides of my brain and surgery could not be conducted. Ive been out since 2004. Without me even knowing this paperwork and forms come in the mail Last month to fill out for PEB. I filled it out and mailed it off last month...I emailed them, they said there waiting on my medical records, what happens next....All this came out of the Blue.
