I thought I would ask everyone what they think of the site. I am mainly looking for what people would like to see more of and any areas to improve. I am trying to post anything that I can think of that is helpful, but need input from members. Thanks!

*Bump*

Any suggestions? I do not know if this discussion board is filling a need or if anyone thinks there should be some changes.

Jason, I think the info provided is serving it's purpose. Sure wish I had access to something like this eighteen years ago. Then it was pretty much take what you got and if it was thirty percent, take it and run. I'm using what I read on the sight just to keep somewhat abreast of the issues of chapter 61 retirees, and legislation that affects all veterans. I think the more individuals undergoing a PEB or MEB that frequent the sight will dictate improvements. The necessary info is here, good service.

Thanks

crazyjim,

You're right that it will take more members posting to figure out where this site will go. I guess that my concern was whether the info provided is helpful enough to attract more members. I guess we will have to wait and see on that one.

As far as general Veteran's isssues, please feel free to start any threads on those subjects. I did not start off this site with the VA side of the house in mind, but that is only because most of my experience lies with the military benefits. Still, I know that mainstream VA issues are going to be of future interest to those going through the PEB. If the threads take off in General Discussion, I'll create another category just for VA issues.

Time for more input

Okay, folks, the site seems to be picking up more members (thanks, I am sure, in no small part to Army Times!). Now that there are more members, I would like to ask for any input, requests, or comments.

I recently added the Reserve Component forum. What do the members think about separate forums for each service? For Veteran's issues?

Great Site

I also found your link in the Army Times. I visit another site hadit.com - great one also - and passed your link to them. Hope you stay for a long time helping service members

I think having forums for each service a person will be able to quickly find the information pertinent to their particular situation since all the services seem to want to do things their own way.

Once the law changes and prevents this, that will be great, but at this point we have to deal with the here and now.

Poll results (in progress)

Well, since all 6 voters have spoken....

I will keep this thread open for comments (which are always welcome) and the poll, too. But for now, 6 members have spoken and the majority say keep the forums the same. I will continue to share info and thoughts across the services, but as you know, I have more experience with Army issues.

Again, welcome to everyone. Let me know if you have questions, suggestions, etc.

This place is great. Good information. Thanks so much. I'm active duty at 18 years and 11 months and having a RILO (Review in lieu of Med Board), so this is really helping me understand the system and the process. Thanks again so much.

Your very welcome, Tina. I wish you the best of luck in the process. Please let us know any questions.

LOVE IT
its funny because I am in a WTU down here in Ft Stewart Ga. I told everyone that i know in the WTU about this site and alot have checked it out and they all tell me that thier MEB docs and PEBLOS get pissed when they come back with all these questions that arise when reading post here. They all have gotten bad response from the people controlling thier lives with the MEB/PEB because they know now that this person know what the hell is going on and they cant dick them over because they are too lazy to do they work HA HA HA HA HA;)

UTBAS,

That is hilarious. I am glad someone is getting the information. Though, all kidding aside, I would welcome some PEBLOs coming here, too, if it gets them smart on the the process. The information monopoly that the "experts" have is really a bad thing for Servicemembers. It makes it so easy to manipulate someone, especially if you are in a position of authority. Anyway, sounds like we are meeting our mission.

why in the world would they want to come here i done told my PEBLO about the site and he got pissed. They know forums like this exist and they hope that none of us find it because if we do that means they cant slack off and get away with screwing us over.
I believe that most of them screw us over just by being lazy. meaning that there are a couple consults they should put in that they dont for example ROM with Phyiscal therapy Pysch elvaS with Behavioral Health For sleeping conditions. so on and so forth because they dont let us know what supporting info to get because they are to lazy and dont have the BALLS do put in a consult/referal then we get screwed because
A: we want to stay in but there is not enough supporting evidence of us being fit so we wasted out free look at IPEB and deny the Formal because they said it wont change. Hell no it wont change unless you put us in for the consults that should of been done in the first place.
B: we want to get out but there isn't enough info saying we can no longer proform the mission in the military. They should tell you that hey you need to get an informal memo from you Plantoon SGT saying that you are a burrden on the PLT and are not able to perform you dutys in your most in their professional opinion. they dont tell you any of this because in the end of the day they still get a pay check no matter how hard they work or help us out. as long as they keep their heads off the chopping block by keeping us nieve and in the dark about our rights they will be okay and that is how i feel they look at things down here at least my PEBLO!

Sorry about the bad post today but I have had a really crappy day!!! PAIN PAIN PAIN!!!!

UTBAS,

That is very frustrating, I know that sometimes personnel in the PDES hold it against Servicemembers if they know their rights or have consulted an attorney. I would say that people should consider this in any interaction with the medical personnel, PEBLO, or the PEB. It is grossly unfair and should not happen, but it does.

Anyway, I hope you get some relief from the pain.

This site is awesome! My PEBLO is great by the way, sorry some of you had/have trouble with yours.
