SkillBridge and/or Corporate Fellowship

Good Morning,

I am currently going through PEB, I wont have my last VA appointment until 8/20. IOT be approved for SkillBridge/Corporate Fellowships, I must have a no-kidding, in writing retirement date. However, I likely will not get more than 45 days once the Marine Corps issues me a retirement date at the closure of the medical board process. That being the case, it appears as though – at face value – I will not be able to qualify for the program, which seems entirely unfair given my extenuating circumstance and I cannot have been the only one to have wanted to partake in the program while undergoing PEB. I would like to start the program NLT August but again, without a definitive date of retirement it will be an uphill battle IOT get approved. Has anyone gone through this process? Looking for assistance and guidance.

Thanks.

As this is a newer program, I doubt anyone will be able to guide you on through this one.

Your best bet is to go direct to the skillz bridge people and ask them for an exception to policy for your case. DoD SkillBridge - Contact Us

I would hope there would be a contingency for MEB people that don't have a solid retirement date. If I were you can it came down to it, I would make the best guess you can on when you are going to retire and tell them that you will sell back any leave necessary to meet that date.

Godspeed

I figured I would just have to write my own reasoning on this IOT get my CO to sign off on the program. I dont think it will become an issue, but I wont be holding my breath.

You would hope it would be open to wounded, ill and injured service members in the PEB process. At least those already found unfit.
