Can anyone share the date of signing the findings, EAS, & # of days of leave on the books when signing.

The official answer is EAS will based on days of leave on books @ signing + 20 PTAD = New EAS date.

However, it seems the trend here lately is within 60 days or as little as 30.

I would love to see some timelines as well.

One thing to keep in mind that it's always better to sell leave than take terminal, if you have a decent amount of days. I know most people hear the opposite and that's because most people have no idea what they're talking about. Just something to keep in mind for anyone insisting on taking 30+ days of terminal vice selling. You will be throwing money away. Now if you have 5 days it's not really worth it but anything over 20 and I would sell. Unless you'rve already sold the DOS mandated 60 days then you're just SOL.

This is true especially if you are already getting BAH. If you're in the Brks it may be better to take the terminal.
Ie So Cal BAH E4 = 1638 + 368 BAS = $2006/month (tax free).

Selling leave (30 days) E4; 4 YOS 2,382.00 * .75 (25% taxes) = $1786.50.

Not in all cases. I'm in Hawaii and taking PTAD and 60 days terminal while still receiving Hawaii BAH at $2995 a month on top of base pay and BAS. Around 3k biweekly for 3 months. ChaChing.

Yes if you live in the bricks and aren't in receipt of BAH then depending on where you are moving back to then it would be better to take terminal. Its all dependent on individuals situations and desires.

Yea it always depends on where you are stationed, what your situation is etc

But someone not living in the Barracks, stationed almost anywhere CONUS (especially East Coast) with no job lined up or no other plans would be better to sell leave.

This all depends on the person. But let's be honest, if you sell leave, you will not get BAH, BAS, Special Pay or any other extras, i.e. COLA if at I-I station, etc, etc. during those days. Plus, as indicated above, you will be taxed. Living in the barracks, and E-5 and below might be a better option, but not always the case. Always, review the best option before selling leave.

Yes of course it is always up to what is best for an individual. Typically if you live in the Barracks it might be better to take terminal to get BAH. If you are already receiving BAH it is almost always better to sell leave, if you have enough days to get a decent amount after the tax man takes his cut.

For argument sake lets say you are an E-5 with 4 years TIS in receipt of BAH own right stationed in Camp Lejeune and have 30 days to sell. Your leave is worth (roughly) $87 dollars a day ($2614 basic pay). If you sell all 30 days then before taxes its $2614. After taxes would be roughly $1961. That would be included on top of your last paycheck. So If that person took terminal he would be giving up $1900 in his pocket. I just think people don't realize that selling leave, while taxed, is still money you wouldn't normally get.

In particular I broke down one Gunny's retirement for him and showed that if he sold 60 days of leave he would get about $6,000 after taxes. If he took terminal he would just be not at work, but still receiving his normal pay and allowances. He had never sold leave in his career and non one ever explained to him how it works.

My EAS was just posted this morning. I have 53 days of leave on the books and plan on taking PTAD. My EAS was posted as July 30th to account for it all. It took about 3 weeks for my EAS to post after signing findings.

Congrats! It's like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

There is a phone number in one of these forums of someone you can call to change the EAS date. I called the other day, but they have not recieved my index from PEB yet. The Lcpl I talked to was pretty legit, said to hit her up if I needed my date changed. Unfortunately, looks like my date will be more driven by the time it takes DMO to get my stuff moved.

We have a very similar timeline, have you heard anything about an EAS date yet I called mmsr-4 today said they havent been receiving any indexes from PEB.

JRblack0811, when did you sign for your findings? I signed last week and I'm also watching for my EAS to populate. Just curious of others timeline.

I signed may 4th or 5th everyone from the PEB is at an event this week in Orlando, FL, so nothing is getting done. I called a marine at HQ Marine Corps (mmsr-4) and she said, she hasn't received any indexes in awhile.

Yeah, I heard about the conference in FL and was told that wouldn't affect the closing out of cases.. I heard their admin section will still be there working.. I am not sure if this had any truth to it. Probably not. I guess we shall see. Thanks for the info!

The way I understand the rules the EAS must be NLT 90 days after signing or is it from MMSR-4 action?

I signed on the 12th and nothing yet. Still waiting. I wanted to be out on PTAD and terminal starting the 1st June but I see that might not happen. I am still hopeful though. Little confused what could be the hold up now. This whole process is just plain stressful and down right wrong if you ask me. From the start, I've been told wrong dates, bogus answers and outright BS from just about every level. Guess it doesn't matter now, but shit, I am getting my fair share of stress, impatience and worriedness to fill a C-Bag. You defiantly need to be on meds to go through this shit. Just my two pennies.

Preach!! My attitude is just as long as I'm still active duty, I'm still employed and can be saving $ for a cushion before hopefully finding a job. Also more leave to take whenever the EAS finally does appear. I stopped caring how long it takes. 10 months and counting.

I agree, I sent my family home a year ago thinking it was only gonna take the 3 months they told me. Little did I know, the fuckery that I would be partaking in. I have been staying at several places, living outta bags waiting to hear something. I want to ship my house hold goods home, so my family can at least have their shit. I'm still here waiting on an EAS, while these turd nuggets go to Florida to discuss how worthless they are.
