Separation Question

So I ran into a little hiccup with misrepresentation of information by the PEBLO. Not sure if it was my misunderstanding or not, but I was initially told my 60 days starts when my case manager finalizes my orders. Apparently this is far from the case.

When I went in to accept my ratings, I mentioned I would like to push up my separation date since my new job was contingent upon being able to work sooner than later. I was told that I didn't need to, because I was given 60 days (or the 30/30 OCONUS split) in order to outprocess and for PTDY. I was then told if I finish my outprocessing quickly, say 5-7 days, I would be able to take the rest of the time to get situated at my home of record.

Here is where things get sticky: I received my date and it is a month further out than anticipated, at 28 Dec 2015. Therefore, the earliest I could even start outprocessing is, technically, 28 October. Thus, I have been trying to find a means to push my date up, but am being told there "is no way to do that" by my PEBLO, and that I should be able to start my outprocessing as soon as I receive my paper orders (next week) and the rest is dead time.

The MPF is no help, and of course I haven't receive my paper orders so I don't have hard dates, but I would really like to gain an extra two weeks on this, since I've spent the past month vetting job offers with a start date of 1 Nov. If I had known they would have extended me out another month I would have easily opted for the date change in the first place.

Anyone know what I can do?

Hey guys, I figured it out. I contacted my case manager directly and told him I wanted to bump up my date. He obliged, asked me to submit a reason for the request to my PEBLO and said he can have it changed today. Fingers crossed I get my 27 Nov orders cut this week!

Good luck! How is all of your leave factored into this, or are you selling yours back?

No I am using my leave. The leave is only tacked on in front of the PTDY, so it falls within your 30 days of outprocessing. However, if you have more than 30 days of leave you can push your 60 days out further. I only had 13 days, so it was eaten up.

Awesome. Good luck! I am around 55 days now, so we will see once I get my results.

How did you contact your case manager directly? Did you ask your PEBLO for their contact information?
