Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Well, the DoVA D-RAS shall forward the proposed/preliminary ratings back to the PEB.

Upon receipt, the PEB shall determine the ratings for all PEB-referred unfitting conditions (e.g., they must adopt the DoVA rating per DoD IDES guidelines) then adjudicate for a TDRL or PDRL finding and issue the IPEB findings via your PEBLO.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

VA just called me and asked me a follow up questions about a condition. He asked me two question, and the answer puts me in one of two rating catigories. He did say this is the last thing they need. He will send it back over to the individual that is rating my claim today. It's good news, I'm pumped.

These bastards opened a new case in Seattle today. I think someone screwed up before and now I have to pay for it. Looks like get to start allllll over! GOd I hate the VA so much!

So updates on the Holiday timeline. I've been waiting to show up on transpoc and decided to call APDA. I signed my 199 on 09DEC and by 11DEC it was at APDA and assigned an adjuster. Then the next 2 days the "system was down" and monday was a snow day...The word on the street is they have about 800 cases right now. Hope i can come down on transpoc this week before the holidays and weekends stop all the work. Anyone shown up on transpoc lately?
another update.... right after that i got a call from my PEBLO and i was on the transpoc list so i hustled my way into the brief and turned in all my paperwork so now im just waiting on my orders

First of all I would like to thank all of you for providing soldiers with information!
I check this forum regularly since it seems like you guys are the only ones that are giving out any useful info!

My timeline is as follows:
Date referred to MEB 4/23/2013
VA claim completed 5/1/2013
C&P exam 5/28/2013
Narsum Completed with 2 appeals 8/8/2013
IPEB unfit status 8/15/2013
Forwarded for rating 8/19/2013
eBenefits status change to pending decision approval 12/16/2013
(my eBenefits status jumped from gathering of evidence on 12/13/2013 (Friday) to pending decision approval in 3 days, which was over the weekend).
As of today 12/17/2013 I have been in the VA rating step 120 Days.

I have two questions that perhaps you guys and girls could help me with.

The first question is that my permanent profile (the one that sent me to the MEB ) has two separate conditions on it. However, my MEB dr thinks it should only be one condition even though she was the one that altered my profile to accommodate for the second condition. Do you think I will be rated on both conditions? I did an IMR and the IMR dr sided with the two conditions.

The second question is more of a military justice issue. So I am taking narcotics for pain and I told my command that. I told them specifically that I don’t believe it is safe for me to pull duty since I do not want to drive a military vehicle under the influence (narcotics). I have a temp profile from a dr saying that me pulling duty is unadvisable.
However, my command still says I have to pull duty and they don’t care.
My question is if the command is going against medical advice and my concerns, if anything happens will I be responsible or my command?

Thank you guys!
I had some issues with the same situation for my profile. Go talk to your BDE surgeon or your ombudsman and they will help you out.

Do you already have proposed ratings

No ENG. My case is unusual because I am reservist and had pending appeal. But my MSC messed up and had all my stuff in Roanoke when it should have been in Seattle. He says they are going to expedite my case and rate it ASAP. But then again he has said a lot of stuff and it has never been true. I would love to kick his teeth in.

Good deal; it's only a matter of time at this point! :)

Wow! Unfortunate indeed; what's the new timeframe for completion...did they say?

Hey all, I read a post that some cases have been shifted from Seattle to Providence; when I looked at EBenefits, my case is indeed in Providence. Looking at my case times below, does anyone have any idea how fast Providence is moving? Another forum member said earlier that it may be a good thing to be at Providence, can anyone quantify that a bit more? My PEBLO said my EBenefits probably won't change regardless, but it still says awaiting information from the initial request for information. Appreciate the insights

Referral Date: 8 May 2013
VA Claims Date: 15 May 2013
Medical Exam Complete: 13 June 2013
MEB Complete: 07 August 2013
Informal PEB Complete: 12 August 2013
Awaiting VA Ratings

Contact your PEBLO immediately, you also need to go see the MEB JAG/ legal and have written statements of your concerns and when you notified your CoC. Doing these steps will help protect you somewhat.

In my opinion they have no legal standing for you refusing to drive while on prescribed narcotics.

Thank you for the advice!
I went to talk to my PEBLO and she said that is out of her line of work. So I am having my medication list and my profile put into my personal folder as well as a written email with a read receipt to my commander sent. So in case something does happen I can prove that I told my CoC about it.

I had this happen to. If you are a reservist and not on orders then you will get finalized ratings and start receiving VA pay before you leave the reserves.

Frustrated,
I am having a hard time understanding the time after proposed and receiving the 199. This is the email I sent my PEBLO.
“See below, the response from PEB:

Good morning,

We have not received the ratings back yet. You might check EPEB or VTA status at the end of the week because we have been receiving some
ratings from DRAS that are still in the process of being uploaded and added to case file. It won't hurt to check.

I checked both system and no changes. VTA is showing that it was forwarded to PEB in November, My guess is... they have it but did not get to your case yet. I'm checking daily, I have two other older cases that is in the same situation. So, hopefully PEB will get to your case soon.”
How can VA send it and not one has received it. Proposed rating were done on 14NOV13.
Can everyone put their proposed date and the date they signed the 199.

The VA emailed me to say that my case is in transit state from one team to another. I was also to expect 25 days for ratings and that he will be on vacation from the 19-06th. The army average for Ratings is 148 days and today is 139th day so I am close but the Christmas vacation is near.

It should be less than 30 days to receive the packet, they must be short handed at the office at your post. What is your duty station?

I have been a long time lurker on this forum. This is my first post. I am thankful for all the information that has been supplied! Here is my timeline:

Referral: 3/26/2013
VA Claims: 4/03/2013
Medical Exam: 5/02/2013
MEB: 5/22/2013
Informal PEB: 5/29/2013
VA Ratings: 12/06/2013
Received 199: 12/18/2013

Today I sign my 199! It was an interesting coincidence as well. As SOON as I clicked the confirmation email for registration for the forums my PEBLO called. I chuckled quite a bit, said a prayer of thanks to God, and rushed to my PEBLO's office. This process has been arduous at best. Without going too far into detail about my specific claim my ratings are as follows: DOD - 70% and VA - 80%. There is hope for those who hold fast to the mast!

Thank you for the advice!

Good deal albeit please still remain positively proactive as you are currently doing! :)

Indeed, the Christmas holiday season shall potentially extend the processing of DoD IDES cases albeit you may receive an early Christmas present; keep hope alive! ;)
