Seattle Regional VA Timelines:

Good morning all. Long time reader, first time poster. My paperwork has been at the VA for 125 days as of today. I know, not a long time in comparison to a lot of y'all but it feels like a lifetime. I have a VA rep and everybody keeps telling me "it should be any time". I have one disqualifying condition and 25 rated conditions. My question....I'm not worried about the overall VA rating. I have a family of 5 and a wife who was recently diagnosed with an auto immune disorder. I'm worried about that 30%. I shattered my heel. I like to say I "death starred" it. 37 pieces. So 12 screws, a plate, 2 rods fusing my subtalor joint and two surgeries later I'm hurting ALL the time. However, I still have some up and down motion in my foot, which is what the VA looks at. I expect a 10%-20% from the VA for that condition based on the VASRD. Will the PEB look at the "whole injury" and "whole soldier" when deciding my army rating for retirement purposes or am I pretty much screwed? I know this isn't really a timeline question but I spend a lot of time on this forum and really rely on warrior664's knowledge. Thank you all for any info. Good day.

I saw my MSC this week here at Leonard Wood. She said she has been telling people 150 days is the average wait for ratings here, and would probably be much higher. I hope that the 250-300 remark from the other post is inaccurate, and if it is, its irresponsible of the PEBLO to throw it out there. Some of us might get a little less calm if that is the case.
Mm MSC also said that Seattle wasn't updating the system like they used to. I am hoping the positive spin on that is because they are spending all their time on the claims. Its going on 2 year since I left home, and it would be nice not to make it three.

I just noticed that my claim that was sent to D-ras in Seattle closed today. How long do you think it woul be for notification. My PEB was held in D.C. I have been waiting since April 9th for ratings.

Unfortunately, I am still awaiting VARR results; therefore, I am not at the "out message" stage at this time. :(

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Wow, PDRL! :D OK great; now, start to enjoy life again! ;)

Simply astonishing news which is a highly untypical finding with a mental health condition for a PEB determination!

Nonetheless, congratulations on your recent receipt of DoD 70% PDRL and DoVA 80% proposed ratings! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

By the way, congratulations on the official signing of your DA Form 199; the end of the DoD IDES process for you is definitely forthcoming!

thank yu.

Again, my question? Will the army/peb most likely go with the VA rating or will they look at the "whole injury" and the "whole soldier" when giving me my dod rating? Some peace of mind...hopefully?

4dec2012- started meb
12dec12-comamanders notified
6feb13- MEB doc appt.
28feb13- MEB coplete=unfit
6mar13-MEB forwared to PEB
9mar13-unfit memo
12mar13-WAITING GAME....SO, if it is an IDES case...it should eb a fully developed claim right? then what takes so long? "FDC's" should only need a rating right?
