FINALLY GOT MY 199
Just curious on everyones timelines at JBLM. I am looking for how long it took everyone from the time they signed their 199 to show up on Transpoc and also how long it took to recieve orders.
My time line for the whole process has gone by faster that i thought it would have and i had 21 conditions
Here are my completion dates
Referral 5/14/13
Medical exam 7/10/13
MEB 8/05/13
IPEB 8/12/13
VA Ratings 11/29/13
PEB Findings 12/06/13
Signed 199 12/09/13
Now im just waiting on transpoc i have head a few days and also heard 30 days does anyone know or have a similar time line????

Back in 2012 it took about 2 weeks if I remember right. Be sure to check out my link below on what happens after signing the 199. Also be sure to go the the G-1 Retirement section there at Waller Hall (around the corner from Starbucks to the right hallway) to schedule your retirement briefing if you are retiring. They only do 1 or 2 a month on JBLM.

Seems the first time it reverted to Gathering of Evidence, they had questions and sent a query to the doctor with 3 questions listed. The doctor answered question 1 and sent it in. So it has reverted back again to Gathering of Evidence so that the doctor can go back and answer questions 2 and 3 that he missed. Then again 1, 2 and 3 should have been answered in the original exam and what not.

Congrats! Wow what a timeline. It's amazing how some are extremely fast while others seem to get stuck for years.
 
I finally got my DA199 yesterday, however, I guess I have to appeal it. It is not so much that I disagree with the percentages, but disagree with the fact that my PEBLO is telling me it wasn't combat related so I have to select the V.A. or the DoD disability. The DoD is definitely higher, but my injuries occurred on duty (working at the ECP) while deployed in Iraq. I have LODs for these injuries, left shoulder and both knees. Any input or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, exactly, what does the DA Form 199 state for each medical condition in the first couple of sentences? It would normal state something like "Condition is combat related" or "Condition is non combat related" or other similar verbiage.

Otherwise, as based upon your statements, you may need to submit a request for a formal PEB hearing to ensure that your objection(s) are properly heard and documented now rather than later in my opinion.

To that extent, never default acceptance to potential injustice!

At this point, I would strongly suggest that you should seek official legal assistance from the SMEBC/SPEBC office for their sound advice PRIOR to signing the DA Form 199!

Based upon my interpretation of your DA Form 199, unfortunately, it seems that the PEB potentially made an accurate adjudication of your potential disability qualification for a combat-related injury under the provisions of 26 USC 104 or 10 USC 10216 in my opinion.

In addition, for instance, were you subjected to any forms of "rocket and mortar" or "gunfire fight" attacks while on/off duty at the ECP in Iraq then an injury to your shoulder and/or both knees occurred as a direct result?

Unfortunately, remember that just by being in a military combat zone and something happens doesn't automatically mean that the injury/disability will be determined as combat-related by the PEB under the provisions of 26 USC 104 or 10 USC 10216.

But, the good news is that this is only my opinion; as such, others will potentially provide their assessment/feedback/opinion hopefully soon hereafter.

Yes i have done everything i can do at this point, Cleared CIF, retirement brief is on 19DEC, completed my exit interview with my MSC and updated all paper work im just waiting on transpoc and today once again i am not on the list.

I have emailed and called and left messages with the SMEBC/SPEBC. I understand what you are stating, I just want to ensure that I am not getting screwed out of my V.A. disability. I was subjected to mortars and direct/indirect fire at the ECP, however I didn't work there for my MP support BN, I was "lent" to 3rd ID and they don't issue you any kind of paper trail, i.e. CIB or CAB unless you get hit. LOL

When I separated from the Air Force after the first gulf war (force reduction) I did the just sign here and your done, then found out that the RE code they gave me on my DD214 was crap because "I didn't finish my initial enlistment". So I had to go through the whole correction board process to fix it, and the board told me I got screwed, but it was fixed.

Talk to Mr. Griffin at the transition office there, he is much nicer than that lady. If you have your ducks in a row and have everything ready within 4 or 5 days of notification he will throw your packet in the top and get your orders cut in days. ;)

My unfit memo was received by VA in Seattle on 11Sep13. Va completed my rating and sent them back to my peblo with the letter on 27Nov13. So they aren't only working July/August cause I'm waiting on 199 now.

Well you are one of those special folks that the rest of us hate. I hope you sleep well at night knowing that your brothers in arms are suffering. LOL I'm just kidding. Don't know how you did it, but good for you.

Lol thanks. If you notice my signature, I've only been in the meb process for 4 months and I'm waiting on 199 which i should have any day now. So the "fast track" here at hood really is fast lol
 
I do feel ad about it though. I've only been at my company in wtu for a month and a half and I'm about to leave and there is one guy that's been here 4 yrs waiting and has 3 college degrees because of all the time
