I am a 100% P&T service connected and 70% DOD. Was placed on the PRDL on 20160616 with 9 years 11 months and 11 days of Reserve time = 3 years 3 months active time. I did not receive my orders for PDRL until 20160625, 9 days after I was retired. Since I am a reservist I can not receive CRDP until age 60, 12 years from now, I receive VA compensation and hopefully CRSC. Since we are suppose to make our election for SBP prior to retirement I have been automatically enrolled into the program. I will hopefully receive enough from CRSC to pay my premiums. My wife will be eligible for DIC in 2022 when I reach 10 years at 100% P&T. So if I understand correctly once she is eligible for DIC we can cancel SBP. So over the next 6 years we will get to pay around $10,000 to DFAS that will be refunded to my wife when I die, however if she dies 1st there is no refund. WTF
