Referral into IDES

All,

Just got my referral into IDES, and I have a few questions.

If I want the Navy to consider anything else that I have during the process if I am found unfit, do I bring this stuff up now, or just worry about the referring condition? Example: I'm a gunner, lots of tinnitus. My understanding is that I shouldn't worry about this stuff now, but should I get deemed unfit due to my injury I should bring these things up then. Is this correct?

Thanks for all of your help.

Best,

Nick

Bring up everything that is wrong with you now. You MEB doc and the MEB will decide which conditions are to be referred (potentially unfitting). You want everything out in the open right now because the VA will rate you on all your conditions, not just your referred conditions. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get the new conditions added/rated, etc.
Now, if you are trying to be found fit and stay on duty, disclosing everything can make it difficult.
