Was 70% DOD/VA 100% P&T.
Had my reevaluation a couple weeks ago and my findings indicate a reduction from 70 TDRL to 30 PDRL (1 condition, MH). I'm not necessarily upset since it still is medical retirement and the offset makes me receive the VA compensation. But without a doubt my biggest concern is that the DOD rating reduction might trigger some sort of VA reduction. I've seen multiple posts that could happen should the servicemember not be P&T by the VA, but I haven't seen one where the servicemember was P&T. All in all, my question is the DOD going to let the VA know they reduced me and will the VA take some sort of action?

The TDRL exam is completely outside of the VA and so it shouldn't affect your mental health rating with the VA. Also since your are P&T the VA is saying that they don't expect your condition to improve in the future. I would consider appealing the reduction if you think they are wrong in reducing it.

This actually brings me to the commentary of the findings.
They mainly said that the documentation from the VA was inconsistent with what the examiner said (different story, but she wasn't the most welcoming and receptive to what I said my symptoms were). I think the nail in the coffin my treatment record was irregular, but i explained to them that I moved multiple times and it would always take about a month or so to get set up at the facilities (adding in the wait time for treatment).
Pretty harsh language coming from the board too, it feels like they were reluctant to put me on PDRL and probably even wanted to reduce me further.
To sum it up, I am fine with it so long as the VA rating stays the same.

I should add that in the Election of Options it does, in big bold letters, say:

NOTE: Changes to your DON disability rating DO NOT affect your VA disability rating.
They are separate and distinct ratings. This Election of Options will not affect your VA
compensation or other VA benefits.

still, anxiety and paranoia can get the best of you
