Sort of still in the process . . . I wont consider myself done until I get taxed severance back (cant get a darn person to answer questions, everyone wants to pass the buck)

12 January 2012--MEB Initiated
14 February 2012--Phase I & II Physicals
10 & 24 April 2012--VA Exams
27 August 2012--Received initial rating for VA
31 Augusto 2012--submitted rebuttal
31 October 2012--Denied VA rebuttal, signed paperwork
28 November 2012--Discharge Orders Cut (actually received 7 Dec 12)
21 December 2012--Amended orders cut
1 February 2013--Final Day in Army Reserves

20 February 2013--Decided to see where I was in the severance payment status. . . .
21 February 2013--Sent discharge orders to VA (was NEVER told to do so by PEBLO)
27 February 2013--Lucky person #13 who I spoke to (everyone else told me it wasnt their lane or passed the buck) informed me that I might get paid in 30-60 days or even up to 6 months from now. . . .
27 February 2013--person who cut my discharge orders told me that they might have gotten my years in service wrong. . . . yay.

Anyone else LOVE trying to get information out of people?

I will say that a majority of information that I needed I received from here, not from my PEBLO. Getting info (ANY info) from that person was like pulling teeth, I felt like I had to beg them. It just gives credence to the Army saying "you are your best advocate."

Congrats on nearing the end. Good Luck

I finally began receiving severance pay on 12 March.

When you get your severance pay, they will only pay you $9000 per LES and only process 2 LESs per week.

Hope this helps some one. :-)

In a few weeks I will try to get my taxed money back, but I need to wait on my final VA letter.

FINALLY!! I have reached the Nirvana of the MEDBOARD process! I received my retroactive VA pay on Saturday, 6 July 2013, and my VA packet today, 8 July 2013.

Now, its time to get my money back from the IRS. :-) Good luck!

This is awesome news, congratulations! :) So, when and where is the party? ;)

Seriously; if I may ask, is the receipt of your "VA packet" inclusive of your DoVA final ratings?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

:-) Unfortunately, the party is on hold until the hubs gets better news on the furlough front (he works on Redstone and I am a stay at home mom to a crazy 3 year old).

Yes, the VA packet not only shows the final ratings of each condition, both referred as well as added during the process, and why they went with that rating (quoting the provisions of the particular 38 CFR that it was gleaned from).

It also tells you what is warranted to attain the next higher rating. An example would be with my right shoulder rotator cuff tear: "A higher evaluation of 20% disabling is not warranted unless there is limitation of arm motion at the shoulder level."

I will be appealing some of the issues that they gave me 0% on, but I cannot complain of a 50% rating. Since the hubs is 90% (still drilling and working on getting the MEDBOARD process to begin), we were hoping for that so when what kids we have are old enough, we are covered by VA.

I hope that this helps you! Good luck!

Good deal, but I am saddened to hear that your family is potentially affected by the DoD furlough period.

Your feedback referencing the VA packet is helpful and I appreciate your feedback; thanks!

To that extent, I am still awaiting for my DoVA VARR reconsideration results hopefully in receipt by August 2013 which is next month; that would be nice!
