reconsideration timeline/process

Just wondering if anyone here knows what happens after a determination has been made on a reconsideration. Is it just a matter of the results going back to PEB then to peblo? Anyone have any idea on how long the process is after VA sends the results back?

I don't have an answer for you, but I have similar questions and look forward to hearing what others have to say.

The reconsideration goes is evaluated then determined. Once they make a determination a memo is sent to the PEB.

In my case, once the reconsideration made it back to the PEB, they forwarded my case to the physical disability review board to get finalized.

My reconsideration took 99 days.

My recon was very quick - 4 days. But then I didn't get the results back from the PEB for 6 weeks. Bob

Do they prepare a revised DA199 for you to sign or is the case final upon the completion of the VARR?

It is a new DA199 - the previous one is void. Unfortunately, they still won't finalize it until after they receive the DD214.

In my case I did not see anything but the VARR memo from the VA. The VARR did not do my reconsideration as it was made for service connection, not a percentage change. I will have to appeal the VA decision once my ratings are finalized and returned.

Ok, according to the "computer" I am told the VA has completed new ratings (as a result of the VARR) and they emailed their findings to PEB. Based on the info in this thread I'm guessing that they will generate a new DA199.

Any idea on what (time-wise) DA199s out of Seattle PEB are running?

Indeed, reference my DoD IDES MEB/PEB timeline within the below signature section for one validated account of actions from an U.S. Army perspective!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
