On oct 29th my doc gave me a temp profile recommending meb for depression, anxiety and ptsd symptoms. The doc said he can't do a perm profile because they may want to add some stuff to it before writing a perm one. (I have bad knees, asthma, hypothyroid and possible fibromyalgia) 2 weeks later he finishes the memo and sends it to the brigade surgeon for official referral into system. How long does it usually take to get assigned a peblo once recommended? My unit is wanting something showing I am starting the meb process. In march I will have 16 years of service and am worried about this whole deal. I don't mind being medically retired.
Welcome to the PEB Forum!
Depends albeit from my experiences within the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process, assignment of a PEBLO should be within a couple of days upon official IDES acceptance then he/she shall perform an initial counseling; take that documentation to your unit as proof when received in my opinion.
In retrospect, since the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process is a performance-based system, one
important factor is the impact of all medical conditions affecting the military service member's ability to "reasonably perform duties of his or her office, grade, rank or rating."
As such, I would like to direct your attention to my PEB Forum URL thread for a detailed explanation about the entire DoD IDES process as follows:
http://www.pebforum.com/site/threads/a-detailed-explanation-of-the-dod-ides-meb-peb-process.22807/
To that extent, please remain "positively proactive" upon your referral and acceptance into the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process! For sure,
never default acceptance to any injustices; fight then continue to fight some more until receipt of your desired expectations supportive via medical evidence and/or medical documentation!
Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"
Best Wishes!
