Greetings all,

I have looked at many of the different threads and the CRSC Offset still confuses me.

I am Ch61 retired PDRL on 09/30/24

Retired at E-5 after 12yrs 2mo 24 days

VA 100% P&T Spouse 3 Children Payment is $4413.63

DOD 100% Payment would have been $2884 with cap of 75%

CRSC was approved for 40%

I waived all DOD for VA

If I could get some help with an estimate it would be greatly appreciated.

You get the lower of these 2 amounts: Pension value: CRSC % pay based on VA charts.

Your longevity earned pension which is based on calculating the value of your earned pension. So your High 3 times your longevity which is just over 30%. So if your high 3 was 4k and your longevity was 30% then your pensions value is $1,200. CRSC based on 3 kids and married at 40% = $1,006. So your CRSC pay would be $1,006. If later on you applied for and raised your CRSC to 50% you could get an extra $194 dollars to max out compensation. You can't get more from all of your pay than the total value of your VA compensation + earned longevity pension.

Thank you for the explanations! I just saw the update in my DFAS starting the next cycle of $1033.84 since the pay raises take effect.

So if your CRSC pay using VA pay tables are higher. For example CRSC 100% and VA tables says $3,700. If the amount is less that means you are maxed out and made whole. You get the lower amount because that amount is the money you were losing due the VA offset. You can't get more than the total of your earned longevity pension + VA compensation.
