ratings question

Quick question - I have been rated by the VA and just waiting for PEB to send everything back I guess. I asked my PEBLO if she new my preliminary raitings via email, and her response is below:

I can't see your individual preliminary ratings... I can see your overall VA rating, and the information is only as good as the person who entered it, so I make no promises it is correct. I am not supposed to share it with you until I have the packet, to ensure it is correct, however I will tell you your overall rating is 90%, however like I stated before I don't know how this breaks down on the ARMY side of the house or if it is correct until I have your actual packet.

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. As of right now I am just waiting for the Army ratings correct? As of right now I am sitting at Army: ??% VA: 90%, is this correct? Or is the 90% some kind of combination of the 2 and I just dont know how it splits up between Army/VA?

I know nothing is official until I get it back in writing ... so this is just hypothetical. Thanks.

Thanks!

Josh

It could be 90% VA and she's waiting to see what the individual break down is:

Say, 50% for your claimed unfit condition, in that case your DoD Rating would be 50% if that were your only unfitting condition.

Or, from that 90%, say you claimed 15 things wrong with you, and 2 of them were found unfitting for continued service.

the total 15 adds to 90% for VA, but could only be 20% for the DoD, thus your Army rating would be 20% and your VA still at 90%. I don't know how many you claimed, or what they are for, but for me, my VA Rating was 60%, of which 10% was for my unfitting condition for my Ankle, I got rated at 50% for Sinusitis, 10% for Tinnitus, and 10% for GERD.

Hope this helps, but if you claimed a lot of things and had the paperwork to support all the claims, you could be at 90% with the VA.

Thanks!

Here is a list of that I claimed:

lumbar degenerative disc disease/spondylosis
hearing loss, left ear
Tinnitus
cyst, neck
warts, right index finger/right shin,
skin condition, arms and back
scar formation, left thumb
scar formation, left foot
scar formation, nose
anxiety

I had 3 unfit conditions on my unfit memo:

a.Thoracolumbar degenerative disc disease with L4-L5, L5-L6 disc bulges. (MEB Dx 1) (V1-No; V3-No; V4-Yes)
b.Right lumbar lower extremity radiculopathy. (MEB Dx 2) (V1-No; V3-No; V4-Yes)
c.Left lumbar lower extremity radiculopathy. (MEB Dx 3) (V1-No; V3-No; V4-Yes)

And at some point while my case was at the VA, an additional claim opened and closed in the same day of PTSD ... not sure where it came from because I only claimed anxiety.

Hopefully they move fast for you, my board convened 4 March 2015, I had my Proposed ratings and my DA199 6 March 2015, signed it and concurred that same day. (Through Fort Leonard Wood)
