I'm 10% dod 100% VA...my ratings are 50%, 50%, 40%, 30%...a couple of 20's and 10's. Calling for reexamination in 5 years..anyway question...I was told by a VA rep, my military service coordinator (MSC) to get with the DAV when I get out and have them look at my ratings because he said that if you take away the highest rating..ie..one of the 50% and my RATING is still 100% that they will "chapter 35" me and it will become P&T. He said the VA is taking the easy way out by calling me back in 5 yrs. And that I can apply for P&T now...Anyone familiar with this?

Use this chart that the VA has http://www.benefits.va.gov/compensation/rates-index.asp and if it does turn out then the MSC is right. I just went through taking away one of your 50% and just guessing you may have 20 and 10 % twice and it came out 94% so with out knowing all of your ratings its hard. But the link will give you a good idea. I cant wait to go through the chart for myself still waiting for the findings any day now.............

Thanks! Yeah do it! I did it and it was still 100. I just didn't have my ratings in hand when I Posted this. But hopefully someone has been through it on here or knows more about it. My MSC is pretty salty...he's really old and has been doing this kind of thing for a longggg time so I think he may definitely have something here worth knowing more about.

Are you sure you have typed this correctly?

When I enter 50%, 50%, 40%, 30%, 20%, 20%, 10%, 10% in the combined ratings calculator, it only comes up as 94.5568% which rounds down to 90%

if you remove one 50% rating, it then becomes 89.136% which rounds up to 90%

I do no doubt that you have been granted 100%, it just may be that you have missed a rating or two, nevertheless I have provided a link to the calculator that you can play with yourself.

Thanks! Yeah , I should have been more specific, I apologize for that one. I was just giving an example of my ratings. I didn't have them on me when I Posted. I was more or less wondering if the whole "take your highest rating out and it's still 100, then you'll be considered P&T" thing is true.
