Quit IDES and EAS?

Is it possible to just not submit for extension and EAS while on IDES? Not really wanting to extend for 6 months and be here until April. Thoughts?

Opinion - go through the process. Six months might seem like a long time now but it will benefit the rest of your life. This is especially true if you are eligible for medical retirement. Healthcare on the outside is expensive.

Agree with Pharmphresh12, it would be to your benefit to allow the IDES to continue. It does suck but in the end it is definitely worth it. You could potentially be giving up a medical retirement and insurance for the rest of your life. Just a recommendation, and several service members usually ask themselves the same question and in the end are glad they went through with it. Good luck and I wish you the best of luck.

If you have been put through the MEB portion of the IDES, you cant "quit" it. The PEB can use your ETS as justification for separation and find you unfit for reenlistment. But the MEB overrules ETS and you will be on hold until the end of the IDES process.
