Question

I was informed a few weeks ago that the IPEB found me unfit and it went to the VA. I checked ebenefits a few times and now my claim went historical stating "Decision Notification Sent". Now I have a new claim open that is "Under Review" stating "Development Letter Sent". Ive been trying to read through the forums to figure it out but I feel like I have read some conflicting answers. Can anyone tell me what this means? Thanks in advance.

I don't have any idea what it means. I'm wondering if its a long time before I get my ratings still or if that means its done with the VA.

Now im not positive as I am a step behind you but if your ebenefits page says decision notification sent it means that the mailed you your "proposed rating" by us mail typical 7 to 10 business days for mailing time. so if you agree with the ratings you sign it and your good to go, if not take it to legal. I believe all that's left after you sign that is to get out of the service. good luck!!! I just received my unfit memo last Thursday hoping itll be soon for my ratings.

The historical claim case is the VA rating. They can give you the proposal to your peblo but sometimes you do not get that information till your entire board is done. Usually takes 60 - 90 days to get your full findings after the VA finished their side.

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. Is it possible to request the proposed ratings from the VA if they didn't mail them?

My timeline should help you. It looks like your VA ratings are done and were sent back to the PEB so they could do their thing. The currently open claim will stay open until you leave AD.

Also I requested my VA ratings via VA chat after 10 days of going historical. The rep told me it was mailed out, and I told her I hadn't received it, I think it was around day 40 since going historical. So she faxed them to me. :)

You can if the VA person who picks up is nice enough to do it. They usually only send it to your PEBLO.

Thanks for the info guys. So I ended up calling the VA and they mailed me my preliminary ratings. It looks like 60 DoD and 90 VA, if I did my va math right. Is there a way to contact the Army PEB about the status rather than going through your PEBLO?

Unfortunately when you call he PEB they will more than likely tell you to call you PEBLO
