I did a sleep study while I was at Maxwell AFB and my result where "Polysomnogram is abnormal, consistent with mild obstructive sleep apnea with an overall AHI of 18.5"(which is in the moderate rating of sleep apnea). But, when I PCS'ed to Colorado and went for the second night to do the test to get the CPAP machine my titration rate (pressure) was 6cm and my current Dr. said "did not meet the Medicare criteria for the diagnosis of sleep apnea"... but, he ordered the CPAP machine anyway and diagnosed it as snoring or upper air resistance.
I've looked online and I can't find any Medicare criteria for titration rates. It doesn't make sense to me why one Dr. would say I had it and anotherDr. would say I don't. Does anyone have in SA on this process or "titration rate"?
