Good Morning,

Thanks for the help from some forum members, my case finally finished (10%, 80%), and some educational counselors at my old base said I wouldn't have a problem transferring the benefits to my spouse or children since i was medboarded. I did the guide online since i started leave, and on active duty until March 31st.

I received a call saying because after the change of my ETS, I am only at about 9 years active service time, therefore losing the benefit. Granted if i did this months prior a memo could of been submitted and it would of been okay, but SOL now.

Does anyone have any advice on maybe correcting this? My unit and ed center said no luck on my side, and now moved back to Illinois away from any ed centers.

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Have you ever gotten an answer to this? I am pending a medical discharge now and haven't accepted the terms yet, working with a lawyer to figure out if I want to accept. I want to transfer my GI Bill to my husband but don't know if I will be able to after I am medically discharged, it was an injury that occurred on active duty and they said I was medically unfit to perform my duties.
