Hello,

I just signed my NARSUM last week, and here is what conditions the VA and Army say I have. What type of ratings may I expect?

1. PTSD--incurred while on Active Duty (AD), perm. aggravated by service
2. Delusional Disorder--did NOT incur while on AD, perm. aggravated by service
3. Eating Disorder--did NOT incur while on AD, perm. aggravated by service

Firstly---I was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward for 2 weeks for psychotic symptoms, I am not sure if that matters for VA Comp or not I assume you all know better than I do. This all happened in Afghanistan, I was Medevaced from Afghanistan to Landstuhl--I stayed 1 week in the psych ward in Landstuhl and then I was returned to my home station and stayed 1 week at the psych ward here before being released to my BN.

Now, here are the findings from the VA Psychologist:

GAF: 50

[X] PTSD symptons described above cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

[X] PTSD symptons are severe enough to interfere with occupational and social functioning

[X] There is reduced reliability and productivity due to PTSD/mental condition signs and symptons

That is all I could derive from the eval---There wasn't anything really on the delusional DO or Eating DO, besides her describing my situation. More than half of the report was about the PTSD situation.

Thanks a lot!

They will deduct the pre-existing portion of your eating disorder and delusional disorder from your ratings. In other words, if you delusional disorder is 40 percent disabling but they find that 20 percent of that was EPTS, you would be assigned a 20 percent rating for the condition.
