I recieved my seperation orders finally and I am going to be retiring on 28 Aug.... I recieved a form that I can put the number of days for PTDY in. Would it be possible to take my 30 days after 28 Aug and if not is it possible for me to lets say take then starting 1 Aug do all my out processing and then bolt whenever I get the chance?

Remember that you are authorized PTDY, not guaranteed. And if you are Army, you only get 20 days. In the reg, it does allow you to take those 20 days split over 4 weeks (M-F) with Sat/Sun off, but I'm pretty sure you have to be local to do that b/c you have to be able to sign in/out every Fri/Mon.

Is 28 August your "out of the army" date, or do you start transitional leave that day?

Usually your command is supposed to authorized PTDY before your orders are cut, so that your PTDY can be blocked with your terminal leave (it is infinitely easier this way).

What branch are you in?

No, your retirement date is 28 Aug, you will be out of the army on the 29 Aug. If you have any leave saved up you can take that with PTDY but its up to your chain of command whether or not they will allow you to take it. Also, make sure you have enough time to outprocess and get your stuff moved to wherever you are going. Remember transportation takes time. Congrats on your retirement.
