Sorry but I am a little confused on the offset poriton. So in other words I don't have an option to choose VA if I wanted to? How would that work out if you can explain that to me and let me show you what the PEBLO sent me on friday:
DOD 70%= $2666.00 Non-taxable
VA 90% = $1992.00 Non-taxable
I am a SFC with 11 years and 11 months in service as per calculation on forms sent from PEBLO office.
Please advise and I apologize for asking for more in detail. I just want to be prepared.

Mike,
I want to thank you. You have been of great help. I have a better understanding an now I am better prepared when I sit down and talk to the PEBLO before I sign my any paperwork.
Elvin.
here is the DFAS military disability retirement pay calculator.
It is an accurate estimator when you input correct data.
Your "high three" average is generally the last 36 months of your monthly base pay divided by 36.
Let's say you have 12 months of base pay at 3,900, 12 months at 3,800, and 12 months at 3,700.
Your "high three" (36 month) average monthly base pay would be 3,800.
So for example, if your 36-month average monthly base pay is 3800, then that's the number you put in the first box.
The rest of the boxes are pretty self-explanatory.
This calculator/estimator will break down who pays and how much each party will pay (military/VA/CRSC).
This DFAS estimator will work for those who are medically retired from military service (minimum 30%) with a maximum length of service (LOS) of up to 19 years 11 months.
It can also work if you have a spouse and qualify for aid and attendance (A/A).
It will work with or without CRSC (0% - 100%).
VA data input begins with a minimum of 10% and is maximum at 100%.
