so my PEB has finalized and I have received my final out date and all that jazz. My question is the promotion. I was promotable. Then after surgeries and MEB I lost it. Ann I to be promoted to SSG upon retirement?

Broken Fister, did they say why you lost your promotable status? Its very important to know why in order to accurately determine if you are covered under AR 600-8-19, Para 1-20. If you were erroneously removed from the promotion list then you could possibly get reinstated and the below provision would apply to you.

Per the provisions of 10 USC 1372, Soldiers on a promotion list who are retired for physical disability (10 USC
1201 or 1204) or who are placed on the temporary disability retired list (TDRL) (10 USC 1202 or 1205) at the time of retirement for disability will be retired for disability at the promotion list grade. The Soldier will be promoted effective the day before placement on the retired list or TDRL regardless of cutoff scores, sequence numbers, or position availability. In all cases, the Soldier must otherwise be fully eligible for promotion in accordance with paragraph 1–10.
If I understand the way they figure out the separation or retirement pay, it's based on your "high 3" years of pay. So while you should be promoted if you fall into the category stated above, I believe it won't affect your pay either way. But on principle and by the regulations if you qualify then they should promote you.
Correct. No one said why. I believe it is because I had the code for pending PEB.
I have an Army buddy who lost his promotion when he was referred to MEB. I am not too familiar with Army regs, but from what I understand, as long as there isn't another reason to not promote, medical disqualification is NOT a valid reason.
