Promotion- last day in service

Yesterday was my last day in service (Army), with PDRL rating of 60%. I was on the promotion list, but I did not get the "auto" promotion. I know it doesn't affect pay, but like others have stated the higher rank always looks better to employers. How do I get the promotion now that I am officially retired?

Employers don’t give a shit about your rank. Even though you may be able to get promoted because the system allows it, just be proud of the rank that YOU EARNED.

I'm not sure how the Army does it, but from my understanding, if you get a line-number in the AF and are forced to retire medically, then you are promoted to your projected rank as long as your CC concurs.
