Promotion after medically retired

Please, I need help to understand this.
I was E4 since 2021. I was never promoted before being Medborded out from Active Duty in February 2024.
Today, I got mail from DAFS states that I'm E-5. I'm confuse.

So when medically retired they will promote you on the last day if you were on the promotion rolls but didn't get promoted because you got out early with a chapter 61 retirement. Being promoted on the last day has no bearing on any of your pay. So basically you get to say that you retired as an E5 instead of E4. No one says pay grade though LOL. So if Army you get to say I retired with the rank of Sergeant instead of Specialist.

Thank you for your response... I was confuse... Before I was never promoted and did not even now about until DFAS sent me the letter for SGT... I am Air Force.
