So, I got the results of my formal today, sort of. The PEBLO said that my findings came in and I was rated Unfit, with 0% disability, to which I replied "The VA rated me at 0%?" No, he said, the Navy rated you at 0%. But, I replied, I am a pilot case, I thought the Navy didn't rate me at all...
"That's right" said the PEBLO, "what is your VA rating?"
I have no idea what my overall VA rating is, so the PEBLO looked at my file and was unable to locate a VA rating. He is trying to track one down so as it stands, I am unfit with an unknown disability rating. I think that what may have happened was since my informal board found me fit, a VA rating wasn't done. We shall see... Thank God I have an awesome Marine Gunny PEBLO who truly cares about helping people out, this would be hell without that.

Was there any explanation from the PEB on what they found unfitting or why?
Under the pilot the VA rates all identified service connected conditions however; the services may only apply the VA rating for those conditions that render the service member unfit.
Example: MEB for asthma but member also has hearing loss and arthritis. The VA may apply ratings to all three, but if only the Asthma is disqualifying for that individual then they can only apply that rating. The ramaining two items are then covered by the VA.

Got my 0% rating from the Pilot Program on 19 September, looked at the paperwark and saw some inconsistencies, so I wrote a nice letter to the Rating Office asking them to look at it again and see things from my POV. The nex two months consisted of countless calls and being told, "we will have something for you by Friday." Finally, the local PEB and the VA decided that i should submit a request for reconsideration, which I have done, stating my evidence and asking for a retirement / seperation date of 2 February. I have a good feeling that they will see things as I do, the VASRD is pretty cut and dried on my condition. Best case: medical retirement with health care; worst case: seperation with a big chunk of change and some work for Jason when I hire him to do my appeal, which I am confident he will win.
I will keep the board updated when I hear. Terminal leave / PTDY should start in 2 weeks

Well, that's it. I am done. The VA came back and said that I was 10% for my unfitting condition and 10% for each of two other things. So the navy will be separating me with severence instead of retirement. I am tired of fighting and just want to move on. At least I will be 30% at the VA so I can get a few benefits from them. Thanks for all the help Jason.

If you are not in agreement with the findings, you should continue to fight. I do understand the sentiment of wanting to be done, but if the issues are "cut and dried" according to the VASRD, you may want to pursue this.
Hard to give you other thoughts without more facts, but in my experience, it is far more likely that they have made an error than that you were rated appropriately.
