Hi I have an odd one. I have sevre nerve pain(caused by the military) that caused me to have mental issues due to the pain and having to fight out awful medial here. I’m finally out on a MEB but they are saying it could be a possible admin discharge because of pre-existing issues (ADHD) I don’t have a personality disorder but they say because I didn’t have the best childhood that it’s all due to the childhood and not due the pain/lack of sleep I’ve gotten because of the pain. But also my leadership is trying to push for an admin because they are saying that I’m not performing my duty as a working airman. They said I didn’t help in certain ways that I didn’t even receive counseling for. They submitted up to my commander that I’m not performing my duties at all. Yes, they are aware of the suicidal tendencies/ psych ward visits. What can I do? I absolutely feel like i deserve a med board as I didn’t fine before the injury. But my leadership/ provider is trying to push for admin. What could I possibly do? My provider said it’s “up in the air” on AFPCs decision. I went to legal and they said I have to wait 90 days until AFPC gets back to me on what decision. What have I done wrong!?? All my benefits could change even if it’s an honorable. How can I fight this, please tell me. I hate this fucking toxic base. Unfortunately I know people who had to fight as well.

from what i know, if you have a medical condition that affects the way you do your job, they are supposed to send you through the medical board process, not just kick you out with an admin discharge.Even if they say something was pre existing, like ADHD, it can still qualify if your service made it worse or if your current condition, like your nerve pain and mental health issues, came from your service.I think theres a rule that says they shouldn’t use admin discharge to avoid the medical process when the real problem is medical. Have everything documented. You can push back through legal and argue that your condition should go through the disability system instead, since it’s impacting your ability to work.Show that your performance issues are because of your medical , not misconduct
