Permanent and stable

I’m on PDRL which I’m grateful for.
However am I still subject to rating changes?
On my form it says I’m permanent and stable which means I can’t get any better and essentially only worse by unforeseen events. That is my presumption.

2. Permanent and total is 100% rating I’m also assuming. So this is slight different from permanent and stable right? The “total”=100%

If you are PDRL, your DoD rating will not change.

If you are P&T the VA will not initiate a review of your ratings.

DOD/PDRL and VA/P&T don’t interact or affect each other once finalized. Your PDRL rating will never change. You are done with DOD appointments towards a DOD rating.

Okay so my VA rating is still subject to change despite my DOD rating

I don’t know very much about how the VA/P&T rating may or may not change. I just know your DOD rating doesn’t once PDRL is finalized. You are still linking them in your head. “VA rating…despite my DOD rating.” Don’t do that. Completely separate. DOD and VA don’t talk. Different processes. No significant links aside from a shared grading criteria (which isn’t always followed the same anyway).

Thank you for your reply but I’m tracking they don’t interact and what not.
For my case I am on pdrl but since I am less than 20 years of service I will not get retirement pay which I know you know. PDRL for my purpose is to just see whether or not I get retired benefits because I got 30% or higher.
Since my VA rating is higher than what the DOD rated me AND since I’m not getting retirement pay…I am only going to get VA after my terminal date but technically once it starts getting processed DFAS wise.
Then going back to my original question and ignoring the PDRL part…is VA rating them subject to change despite having a permanent and stable condition? Because I know that there are individuals who are on the TDRL who have to continue to get check ups whether to see or not their condition has stabilized hence it’s “temporary”.

But I’ve heard that through the VA if it doesn’t state other wise if you are permanent and stabilized there will be no need to reevaluate.

Yes, TDRL is temporary and you get another DOD evaluation to see if you warrant permanent disability or something else.

Here’s a mindblower - you can be TDRL for DOD, and P&T for VA. Like I said, they aren’t linked at all.

I’m sure someone on here can answer about VA & P&T details. Sorry.
