Hello, my name is Bradley, and I am currently in the tdrl Peb process. I received my 199 with proposed ratings of PTSD at 50% and placement on the PDRL. My issue comes in the fact that I am in no way shape of form 50% disabled, and feel dishonorable being diagnosed so high. I did a small appeal to the PEB, which discussed this in great detail, and the PEB denied it. I feel that this is totally dishonarable, yet I have no means to fight it, due to checking no formal appeal. Please help as these benefits would essentially be false. Thanks!!!

Indeed, this is an interesting perspective about your military disability compensation at this particular point in time!
In retrospect, a medical clinician diagnosed you with PTSD due to meeting the criteria. Then, the DoVA rated the PTSD symptomology IAW the 38 CFR VASRD and now the USAPDA LDES PEB has determined that your PTSD is "permanent and stable" at a 50% rating for a military disability retirement.
In my opinion, it would seem that your DoD 50% rating for PTSD is accurate at this point in time since a TDRL re-examination was performed. At that point, the medical clinician evaluated your PTSD symptomology then annotated all of its effects with occupational and social functioning.
Bottom line is that I totally comprehend your current state of mind at this point! By no means would I even consider your DoD 50% rating with placement onto the DoD military PDRL as being "totally dishonorable" at any point in time. I truly believe that if the USAPDA LDES PEB had medical documentation validating a lower PTSD rating, they would have definitely lowered your rating for sure.
As for me, I am now DoVA 100% P&T with SMC-P for A&A but I didn't believe that I was totally disabled! Fortunately, the medical documentation validated my medical conditions symptomology and I am receiving the appropriate DoVA disability compensation at this point in time to include receipt of SSA SSDI federal disability compensation.
Hmm, just ask my wife & children the absolute "hell" I have embarked upon them due to my PTSD & MDD with severe psychosis mental disorders to include all of the other physical medical conditions which limits my ADLs on a daily basis. Take care!
