Pending Decision Approval for Ratings

One more thing I always forget to add. Don't stress about the e-benefits site and what it says about the phase you are in. From my experience, they don't really update anything of importance until AFTER you separate from active duty and give them a copy of your DD214. They need the DD214 so you can get paid so turn that in once you get it. Also, you get paid after a full month passes. For example: MY EAOS was January 1st so my first VA payment is going to be March 1st. If I got out December 31st, then my first payment would be February 1st. I chose January 1st so I could get my paycheck from the Navy (December 15-31st), since the military holds your last paycheck. The military is holding my paycheck from January 1st-14th (that's fine since I got out the 1st and not missing much money). I have been out 6 days now and my e-benefits still says Gathering of Evidence, so it's not a big deal because I know everything is being processed and what to expect. You will get your VA rating with you DON rating when your PEBLO gets the information. The VA will not budge on offering that information... I tried too.

Thank you for all the info Guiret28! So with the unfit finding, does that always mean military separation?

Apologies. When was your PEB package submitted? I'm Navy as well, and on a timeline about 5 weeks behind you.

06OCT2011 Reviewed NARSUM and signed UNFIT finding from MEB.
13OCT2011 BUMED started screening record for PEB.
30NOV2011 Called Washington DC and was told PEB found me UNFIT Separate without benefits 0%.
05DEC2011 Notified by PEBLO that IPEB came back UFIT for service.
06DEC2011 VA started reviewing package for PEB rating.

I wish I knew how to accurately answer your question but I am not sure. I believe there is a way that you can stay active under certain conditions and approval from the higher chain of command. I think that those who are close to retirement might do this. I bet someone in this forum could give you a better answer :)

Between 3 Jan 12 - today I went from pending decision approval to preparation for decision to regulatory or procedural review to pending decision approval to closed. I called 800# to confirm my ratings were complete and they are. Now just waiting for notification from PEBLO. MEb began on 2 Sep 11.

Just received a call from my PEBLO today to come in Tuesday to review ratings. If I agree on everything then I start the transition phase. Almost over

Still my package hit the PEBLOS on dec 6th. Got told that the docs were reviewing it. So hopefully only a few to four weeks behind you which means I might hear something soon. At least I am hoping.

congrats guys on patiently waiting, i hope the two of you get what you deserve and most of all find comfort in living with your pains. get better, live life and never over look the small things you can do.

godspeed

Finally figured out what that message meant. It means, if you are in the IDES program, that they have a "PROPOSED RATING" and it is being sent to the PEB for the unfitted conditions to be put on a DA form 199 and them forwarded to your PEBLO for your review. You can then agree or disagree.. then file a VA reconsideration if you disagree and you have the support documentation, in which you have 10 days, for only the claims for which you were found "UNFIT".. I hope this helps you guys.. and you understand.. I am the daughter of this service member and her assistant, lol.. She uses me sometimes when she is too ill to post. TY!

I was leaning towards that being the case. Thanks!!

Are any of you in the Navy? I am wondering how long it has taken. My package was recieved on Dec 6th, and i haven't seen any changes to the VA Ebenifits site at all. Unless you count the number of times it has been down this month.
I am an E-5 active in the Navy. I just started the PEB process. I submitted the NMA and the Dictations, and I should see the VA in the next month. What happens next and what will be the time frame to hear something back. Some people on here say that it was quick, and others say it took forever. My PEB is for Crohns Disease, and for my left Testicle, which I injured in Afghanistan and recently had surgery. Please help with anything you can. Thanks. Kiefer82

Figured I would chime in here. The PEB took 4 days to return my unfit finding. Then of course it went to the VA and my preliminary ratings came back, and the packet was sent back to the PEB for approval 10 days ago. My command is really starting to screw with us (MEB soldiers) and I am chomping at the bit to get my 199 back. They are saying 16-28 days, but who knows. My VA rep used to be a PEBLO, he told me he used to called the PEB at this stage all the time. just to give it a nudge to get it done. Of course my PEBLO has been on leave all week, second time in as many months, so I'll have to wait 'til Monday. But there are things that can be done.

My claim was submitted to the VA on 18 Jan 2011.... it just went to "Pending Decision Approval" yesterday, 14 May 2012. So from start to this point I have been waiting 484 days. This is AFTER spending 15 months in the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Bragg where this was supposed to be "fast tracked". Come to find out the Army never did anything with my MMRB/MEB as far as the VA is concerned, so I had to do it all myself. I have numerous conditions which may be why it is taking so long. Hoping to have it all straight in a month or two.

Just wondering where you are at in this process? I am Navy too and trying to establish a timeline. Also, what process site are you going through? Mine is VA in Rhode Island and PEB in Washington.

Mine is VA in Louisania and PEB in DC. Down here most cases take 9 months to a year to be done. I have had so many issues with the Navy keeps losing my surgery paperwork, and my PEBLO is amazing but bless his heart he has had multiple knee surgeries recently and when he is out there is not anyone competent to do his job. Then every other month the VA sends me letters for more VA Doc appts. I am trying not to get as frustrated, cause the whole process is alot more slower and painful then I was told. The Peblo gives you this chart that show the timeline and what the Military and VA is suppose to do by what month, you might as well throw it out of the window, cause it means nothing. God bless and good luck. I have learned alot from the site. Navy Bud

Hello All;

I am awaiting my ratings from the VA and case has gone to the "Pending Decision Approval" stage in ebenefits system. There are only two more steps which are the preparation of notification and complete, which is the mailing. In the conversations with my PEBLO, I thought that I was suppose to get a "sneak peek" of the ratings, then confirm or appeal if needed. Does anyone know about this process or am I reading to much into it?

With me the Pending Decision Approval was my Proposed Ratings. The VA sent them to the PEB and mailed me a hard copy to the address on record. I received a combined rating of 80% proposed from the VA back in July. I am still waiting for the PEB to approve the ratings and send 199 to PEBLO.

Consider yourself lucky, my claim was filed December 10th, 2010 and mine has yet to reach a decision.

30 months later, I'm finally in the preparation for notification phase.

First time posting here. My case has been in the "Preparation for Decision" phase since 14OCT2014. I am told that it is currently in the "VA QA phase". Does anyone know what that means, and how long that takes? I assume that after the QA phase is over, it will go to the PEB.
