Has anyone heard of this? Last monday (2MAR15) my packet was forwarded to PEB. I haven't heard the inevitable unfit for duty, but my case jump from Gathering Evidence to Pending Decision Approval today.

Also, how long after you hit Pending Decision Approval did you all get your ratings?

I've noticed a lot of PEBLO's are not proactive about forwarding their preliminary "unfit memos" to the SM. I was found unfit the same day as my packet reached the PEB. My PEBLO emailed my unfit memo to me as soon as she had it but I know people who have to request them or are told they cannot get a copy via email. It could be that you were found unfit and your packet was forwarded to the VA for ratings without your knowledge. I would suggest contacting your PEBLO to see what's up, if you haven't already.

I'm in the same boat as you. Never heard anything from my PEBLO, status moved to Pending Decision Approval couple days ago. Went up there today and she had nothing for me. Hoping to hear from someone soon.

Im at drum as well Its been two weeks and no word at all from the PEBLO. I hit the IDES system the Wed before last and no word. Is this normal or should I go rattle their cage.

I have no real faith in the utility/accuracy of E-benefits. It is a Garbage In-Garbage Out system. If it helps folks, great. But, I would not count on it.

I never received an unfit memo. I was given my ratings about 2 weeks after my E-benefits went to pending decision approval.

Never received an unfit memo but I went to pending decision approval the day after my packet was forwarded. I then sat on pending decision approval for about 85 days. They just finished my claim last friday, so I'm hoping I hear something by the end of the week.

How'd you know they finished your claim?

Claim status goes back to gathering evidence and I have a note in my eBenefits claim history saying completed. They don't really finalize your claim until you've been released from active duty so it goes back to gathering evidence awaiting your DD214. Meanwhile their proposed ratings are forwarded to the PEB.

At least this is my cursory understanding of this portion.

Thanks, my morning ritual now includes checking ebennies every day. Hoping it is coming soon!

So ratings and DA 199 came in today, 5 days after ebennies reverted to gathering evidence and 91 days total waiting on ratings, just to give you an example of my timeline. 20% DoD/50% VA.

Mine actually came in today also. 10 DoD/ 100% VA. They put non combat on them though so I've got to see the attorney tomorrow to see what to do.

Sooo What had happened was...
1. 10 MAR I believe that the VA had completed the initial ratings for my VA claim before the PEB requested ratings for my unfitting conditions. This updated my VA claim status to Pending Decision Approval.
2. Also on 10 MAR, the PEB returned my packet to the MEB because I had one condition that did not meet retention standard (SAPHO Syndrome affecting knees (bilateral), shoulders (bilateral), hands (bilateral), feet (bilateral), hips (bilateral), elbow (bilateral), wrists (bilateral), ankles (bilateral), neck, sternum, back, and skin). They wanting my NARSUM rewritten to break each part out into individual conditions.
3. 14 APR New NARSUM was rewritten and sent to the PEB for 20 conditions that do not meet retention standards.
4. 16 APR PEB requested ratings from VA for 19 unfitting condition. All above conditions minus the skin condition.
5. Now I play the waiting game. I am hoping that since it appears the VA has already cone the preliminary ratings for my VA claim that it won't take too long to get the ratings for the unfitting conditions complete.

Now I have more questions about ratings specifically. I have read and re-read the VA schedule of ratings for joints and still am having trouble figuring parts of it out. Such as... my ROM is normal for all joints per my VA medical evaluations, however it is documented that for all joints painful motion begins nearly immediately. Does this fall under the non-compensable condition and given the 10% rating for each joint based on painful motion, or will the painful motion be considered a limitation of ROM and the full rating be given. Also, will the added ratings for bilateral conditions take affect and then combined with other joints or will it just be a straight combined rating for all joints regardless of it being bilateral or not, I I believe this will be the difference of me receiving 90% or 100%.

Here is the PEB results:

So, I received my unfit on APR 16. My VA claim on ebenifits had been sitting in pending decision approval since 10 MAR. Yesterday, my claim jumped back to Preparation for Decision. I called the VA to see what was going on with my claim and he pretty much said over and over again the they are the same thing. That both status mean exactly the same. I asked him if they mean the same thing, why was the status changed? If there was no change in my claim, there should have been no change in my status.

I know that a lot of time it will jump back to Preparation for Decision and then a couple days later they will send your ratings... Hopefully this is the case.

I waited for mine to show Pending Decision Approval. I called VA and they confirmed my ratings were complete and forwarded back to PEB. A day later, my ebennies changed to Gathering of Evidence with a request for separation documents within the claim status. Now just waiting for PEB to do their thing... my PEBLO said it's been about 2-3 weeks for a PEB return on a 199 here at Bragg... we shall see.

So I also fall into the same boat.

Finished C&P's last week. Called PEBLO to try and move things along and see what the next step was, she said "Wait until the VA releases records and we can get your narsum done."
I called the VA yesterday to play dumb and see what the status was, and he said everything was uploaded on the 18th and the final one showed up yesterday so my PEBLO should have it soon. Got to work this morning and logged into ebennies and my status went from Gathering Evidence to Pending Decision Approval. WTF? I've not seen a narsum, or any of that..

Does this just mean that the VA has already reviewed the claimed conditions, and then now the DOD side will just do its thing until they need to pull the ratings from the VA?

IE: narsum, meb/unfit/peb then ratings and peb findings? Also at Bragg....

When is ebenefits updated?

Mine was updated today I guess? I havent checked it since last week

Oh! Yea I check mine 100 times a day
