I submitted my package to the PEB July 10th 2017. Peblo told me I had to wait between 5-8 weeks to recieve findings. My 8 week mark is tommorow. With no word yet. Im fighting to stay in with 1 condition which is a torn meniscus. Does anybody have any insight on how much longer I may be waiting?

Usually if you hear something back around 30 days you will be found "FIT". If you have been waiting over 45 days after they received your package then more than likely you will be found "UNFIT". This is not always the case, but I haven't heard of anyone really deviating from this lately. In my case this was true. Got called by my PEBLO on the 30th day. Good luck!

Hey Anthony,

Looks like we both have the same timeline and same injury. I haven’t heard a thing from my PEBLO, curious to know where your case stands.

My package was sent up July 11th 2017 and I’ve received no word so far on my findings

Thanks!

If you are awaiting results from the VA then that tells you right there that you are UNFIT. The VA doesn't even receive your claim until you are found unfit. If you are found fit then your results are sent straight from DC to your PEBLO. Because you are waiting for a claim to be rated, youe not fit for full. After you are found unfit your package is sent to the VA for ratings. After your rating is complete you will have 2 claims listed. 1 claim is under HISTORICAL claims on the e-benefits site. The other claim (THE SAME CLAIMS) is still listed as pending decision approval. If you have 2 claims one is history and the other "PENDING DECISION APPROVAL" that means the VA has COMPLETED the claim and has sent it back to the PEB in DC for what is called Q&A phase. This phase is strictly for quality assurance purposes for the PEB to make sure all of your claims add up to the proper percentage and every I was dotted and T was crossed This phase is not listed so not a lot of people know it adds another 3-6 weeks onto your waiting time. Once it is signed off by the PEB president as OKIE DOKIE good to go, it is immediately forwarded to the CHIEFS board NOT your PEBLO days after receiving to notify you. Once you are notified you go in and see your ratings. If accepted you have 10 days to meet with a lawyer and make sure everything is on the up and up OR appeal it. Then you meet with your PEBLO and the VA in your assigned location for OUTPROCESSING procedures and then you get your DD214 and you say ADIOS MILITARY. Hope this helps some of you :)

I waited 8 weeks during my first board and got a FIT finding. It sucks but you have to be patient. Remember from mid November through early Jan nothing really happens up there bc if the leave situation. You’d be surprised to learn what the working hours really are at the board. My first board went up in July 15 for what it’s worth. It seems like everyone is getting FIT decisions right now too bc of the retention push going on. If all you have is a bad knee then from what I have heard I think you will be staying in but you never know. I was told there was no way I’d be FIT by the docs and PEBLO and it didn’t come out that way. That’s not to burst you bubble but rather to say be prepared either way. Have a plan before you get results.

it all depends on ROM.

My Ebenefits went historical and ratings have been done and are being sent to the PEB. Knee was one of my bigger claims
