PEB Rating Changed....now what?

My apologies if this question has been answered in another forum, but I did some digging and I can't seem to find it if it is in there.

My initial rating with PEB in 2004 was 10% for a shoulder injury received during training. Subsequently the VA rated me at 10% upon separation in 2004. I recently submitted my paperwork to the PDBR and it just came back last week. The PDBR changed my DoD rating to 20% based on the fact they felt the wrong VASRD code was used by the PEB. If the PDBR changed my VASRD code and increased my rating would I need to submit a new VA claim or just submit the documents as part of my initial claim. I am a little in the dark as to next steps.

I read about a similar case somewhere on this forum a while ago, if I can recall correctly: you have to file a new or file a notice of disagreement in order for the VA to consider your new %. I could be wrong, but you can continue searching..

Good luck

I think you only have a year to file a NOD, maybe the time is shorter. I don't recall off-hand. Since you're VA ratings were done in 2004, I'm pretty sure that you would have to file a new claim with the VA, just be sure that you have all of the evidence to support your claim for your current situation. (ie, if you are doing better now, it's unlikely that you would have an increase in percentage)
