PEB finished but only 3 months from 20 active

My unit was a little late getting me to things like the Pre Separation Brief which I just did this week (I ETS 03JUN12). During the Pre Sep breif they reviewed my DD214 worksheet. I found that they made a simple mistake on calulations of my current DD214 worksheet.
The worksheet reads:
12. Record of Service
a. Date entered AD this period: 2004 03 23
b. Separation date this period: 2012 06 03
c. Net Active service this period: 0005 11 24 ß Here is where the problem is. The difference between the two is not 5 years 11 months and 3 days. It should be 8 years, 2 months and 10 days.
This would put me at 19 years, 8 months, 29 days active service. I think everyone including myself thought I was at 17.5 years so I never concidered battling for the 3 months that would take me to 20 active.

Question:
Is this worth battling for to stay in for the needed 4 months? If so how would I do that? I am scheduled to ETS on 03JUN12

Well first we would need to know what the PEB said?
Are You IDES or Legacy?
DOD Rating?
VA Rating?

TDRL or PDRL?

If you are being med boarded out via title 61 and are a reservist....your years of service is calculated by dividing retirement points by 360, NOT 365....which nets you about 105 days.....

I'd definitely get some advice from Jason. It would be worth paying him for an hour of his time!

Thank you for the quick replies.
Legacy I beleive. The PEB was completed 29FEB12 via Ft Lewis at 70% TDRL (PEB documets have VA rating codes but I still think its Legacy). I filed with VA on 27SEP11 as a BDD because I knew it was going to happen however, they haven't even scheduled exams yet. eBenefits website show completion estimate of 12/6/2012 - 12/28/2013 so no VA rating as of yet. I am a reservist on AD in one form or another since 1997.

Jason handled the informal for me. He's always been great about answering questions even without being retained but I know he's busy with paying customers. I just didn't want to hassle him until I find out if it's worth the battle and if there is something that could be done.

OK, not trying to get personal but 70% DOD, TDRL for what? For instance I am 70% PTSD W/Severe Depression, 40% Cognitive Disorder (Mild TBI),
10% Lower Back and 10% Right Shoulder = 90% TDRL

My conditions could change for better or worse depending how and who does my reevaluation in 6 months..... so that's always a concern.... I could have twenty years in if they corrected all of my time but was advised not to yet... leaving options open. so it really depends on each case ...so still need more intel... ;)

50 PTSD, 20, 10 and 10 physical. I too was concerned with the reeval but I'm feeling strong (at least hoping) that the reevel actually raises things a bit. Any ideas on trying to stay on orders for another 3 plus months? That would make me eligible for CRDP wouldn't. It seems like it would be worth it but maybe not.

All things being equal, I would rather stay on till 20 years than not. Though it appears you will get CRSC, the "delta" of TDRL makes me think it would be beneficial to get to 20 years just in case something screwy happens (or, though it would be great for your health and I hope that happens, you have a great recovery and are later reduced in ratings to below 30%). There are a lot of "what ifs" involved, but given the proximity to 20 years, I would say it makes sense to try to stay in until you "cross the finish line" regarding 20 years of service.

Might not be the biggest issue in the world; but it might matter a great deal.

At this point it sounds like everything is done. I don't know how you would stretch it out for a couple of months more. Do you have a discharge date in hand? Is it possible to take terminal leave? Being in the reserves I'm not sure if you could take PTDY.

Staying on for the full twenty sounds like the plan....... Now you have got to implement. Are ALL your records correct: awards, schools, time overseas.... TIME OF SERVICE, etc, etc.
Are all you medical conditions and treatment plans being met? Is there anything that could be questioned requireing more paperwork from any outside agency that would require more time...... ?
Congresionals take 30-45 days, IG's 15 days... Blow that whistle on somebody and that's ...... well a lot of time... LOL.
I understand that VA has a residential treatment plan that is 90 days long. My exit plan has been slowed down somewhat........ but I wouldn't recommend following it. I had the "Big One"
(small really) which has caused my paperwork getting a second glance by the PDA.... I won't make 20 on this alone but it certianly has caused a hick-up and slowed the process down.
Good Luck Brother you have your mission statement. ;) I hope you realize my intent is to add some humor to all of this and not cause you to decieve anyone.....

Well... There are a couple issues left unresolved. One missing award, DD2384 for education bennies that nobody in the unit seems to know anything about, the DD214 errors and the Pre Separation brief that they scheduled me for on 01JUN at Irwin. It is my understanding that it should have been done >90 days out. SO all this pre sep stuff that would have been helpful, I am just now finding out about. I only learned about the error in AD time because I went to a pre sep brief on my own when I heard about its existence.
Treatment plan? Ha, they keep finding more stuff wrong with me. Now I'm having issue with some third world intestinal bug wreaking havoc on intestinal tissue.

How would I start the process to get these looked into? I have one week to do it.

Start going to sick call everyday until it's resolved..... or request to see your Primary Care Doc with Current Conditions and Retirement Care Plan... ;)

Does anyone know if the Disabled Transition Assistance Program (DTAP) is mandatory? I just found out about its existence last Wednesday. Great info but would have been useful if I had known about it back when the med process started.

YES it is mandatory :(

ND... You're awesome! This may buy me some time. I will see what I can do with it. For anyone that doesn't know, the little DTAP brochure really looks helpful. All MEB/PEB folks should look into this.

Thank you all!

It's every bit of three hours if you do it on line..... It seems to me it was all day if you had to sit through it......... I did both and it was like listening to finger nails on a chalk board X 2 :(

I couldn't quite take your advice on the daily sick call, but I did have follow up Dr appt.
Well, I found that the 3rd world intestinal parasite that I had at the beginning of the year is gone. Great news, right?
So the doc is looking at me kinda funny and asks me to strip down. He takes measurements of my lower limbs and says the atrophy on the right side is way out of line. Even more than previously noted. He suspects further nerve damage and orders an EMG. So I’m thinking okay… There has been some good news, and some questionable news.
Then he tells me I need to go in for a brain MRI. They suspect a possible tumor in my head. And… They suspect I have some internal bleeding so they want me to get scoped.

The fact that I ETS in 3 days is just difficult to accept. I feel like I'm being dumped while still having all these problems. I am not sure if it would have made a difference if they had me hooked up with a CB-WTU.
