PEB Finding (199)

So after a crazy day of trying to get the correct information I have come to a conclusion. No one within the IDES process has any idea of what is going on (i.e. PEBLO, OCONUS PEBLO). I spoke with my stateside PEBLO two weeks ago and it was mentioned the 199 was anticipated to be completed and forwarded to the OCONUS PEBLO last week. As of today there is still no information on what is going on and the CONUS PEBLO is bashing the OCONUS PEBLO stating he is giving me wrong information. The situation I am in is that my ratings were completed on 4 NOV and I understand the completion of the 199 is on average taking 11 or so days with the Army. I am current at day 20 and there is no further information besides the information I was given from the OCONUS PEBLO, which according to the CONUS PEBLO is inaccurate since he does not have access to this information.

The big situation is having a job lined up to start mid January which I figured would be enough time from the beginning of November till end of December to out process etc. but this is quickly being proven wrong. Has any one had an issue like this were people coming in after you have received their 199 and area already headed out the door as well as those whom went through the process the same time you did. Any input would be great on what I can do to speed this up as I am not to worried about the rating portion since my job that I have lined up is a decent position.

Expect to see it after Thanksgiving, unfortunately in the second half of November, folks forget to actually work.

I feel you. I was referred 3 months ago and still haven't even heard from my PEBLO. When I asked almost everyone they told me that the process is a slow one and to just be patient. It's very frustrating

@RFrampton I have been in the process since early July and I am in the final steps. The process is slow but when no one can give you information on why a form has been sitting for 20 days waiting on a signature is quite ridiculous in my mind especially when there are specific timelines set.

And that's what gets me. That there are specific timelines. My Temp profile expires on Sunday and then what?? My Dr is on leave and can't extend it and my case manager is just telling me to be patient. I've got the Commander asking me my status and I can't even tell him the status because I don't know.

@RFrampton - You can not enter the IDES process with a temporary profile. At least that is my experience. Once you have a permanent P3/P4 profile you are referred and should here from the IDES coordinator or whatever his or her title is. They will set up a time for initial counseling and a whole bunch of briefings. They will also schedule your C&P exams (at least they should if they are doing their job). After that is when you should meet with your PEBLO.

What is your branch of service?

I understand but this was completed before the second week of November. I know people getting theirs within 2 days of the VA ratings complete. I know you can not compare cases since each one is different but is it really that dang hard for someone to send an email since they are the liason and ask for a status update on why it has not been signed? In most cases people do not have jobs lined up, but it seems as if you do have a job lined up they can care less. It is funny because they want you to go through all of these classes to prepare you for your transition and tell you to start planning and doing stuff early but it almost seems that if your doing something good for yourself and your family you are almost never taken care of in a timeley manner. At least this is my perspective of this process. The information is lacking and people cut corners to earn a pay check whereas they should be assisting and driving the process to make it more efficient and effective for the soldier as well as their job.

I think that I'm headed to the IDES office this morning to try and find out something. I understand that there is a process, but "someone" should know where it is within that process.

@RFrampton were you able to find out the correct information?

Yes, I found out that the timeline that is on almost every sheet of paper that I recieved is just a "suggestion" and not a real thing. Instead of my timeline starting with the referral, it really started 96 days later when the Dr decided to put his signature on the profile.
