PDBR

lso in the same boat.info is the following. Infantry soldier from seo 1990 and medically separated March 2005.
Army Peb. 20% Dec 2004
VA 70% . July 2005
Received letter to apply for pdbr Aug 2013

Submitted application through Lawyers serving warriors (NVLSP) Oct 30 2013.

Dec 2013 the agree to represent me and requested all my records with VA and DOD.

May 2015 NVLSP received the requested records. After a lawsuit to the VA.
May 10 2015. My case was forwarded to the Law Firms of Lathan and Watkins.(free)

June 2015, my PDBR application was sent with an additional 84 pages. I was surprised with how personally the law firm review my records and the accuracy.

Sep 2015 received from. The USAF the receipt of my application along with the Doc Number

Dec 1 2015. My case was in final adjudication with the PDBR.

As of today, I have my fingers cross and waiting for the final decision. With all the confusion and knowing that I was going to take longer, I decided to use the NVLSP team and no matter the outcome and even if it's taking longer than usul and with all the confusion I don't regret it.

Did anyone use the NVLSP and received a positive results?

Apr 10 submitted an increase with the VA and also new conditions

I have to call and ask where my docket was at. They told me on Jan 12, 2014, it was just ajudicated and sent to the army. I've read on here could be 50 days before its official determined. All I know. Any input from others?
I just found out that my case has also been adjudicated and sent for review and signatures. Is there a POC or number to call?

Mine was sent April 15th and Im in the same boat. It worries me because on another thread there's a lady who said her case was sent to the Army last yr and she is still waiting.

My case was sent to the army and I called today and it's pending but the army has it. The guy said to give it another month or 2 to process. The pdbr was sent to the army at the end of February of this year.

Yeah I know, she said that her packet was send to the Army back in December. But when she called ARBA or PDA, her packet was no where to be found.

Hello everyone,

I just finished a call with the PDBR and they informed me that a decision was made on my case and my package was completed and sent to me in January of 2016. I never received the package, so she has informed me that the package will be resent to me and arrive within 14-21 days. I haven't gotten any retro pay or any status update, so does this mean that the decision was probably not changed from medical board? I'm wondering if there is something in the package that I am supposed to fill out or submit in order to receive payments or if the decision is made and if there is an increase I automatically receive it without doing anything? I maybe rambling, but if anyone has any information please let me know. I would be available for a call as well if someone could contact me. Thanks in advance!!

I think it's amazing that youre done with the entire process. If a decision has been honored from your branch that means that DFAS is going to be made aware of what needs to be paid minus any severance that needs to be repaid to the VA if you haven't already and if you didn't already receive anything then you don't have to worry about that.

I would wait until my packet comes to make any decisions to see what they've said. Any pay you will receive can take up to 90 dats I'm sure but your packet should include that information as well if your discharge has been upgraded to a retired status. I used to work with records so I know lol

Again, congratulations! ☺️

Thank you for that info @Lyria! I just spoke with ARBA again today and I managed to pull the info that I've received an increase, but she said I wouldn't receive any more pay! I'm not sure about how to fill about that now! Any thoughts?

So was the increase due to being medically retired or did they keep your percentage 20% or below after raising it? My opinion is if you received a severance and a severance is based on your years of service AND the percentage they give, if they up your percentage they have to recalculate your severance. If they have to change your record they have to change your pay.

If not I would definitely fight that. My hope is that you've been medically retired because that's what I want too lol. Tell me how it goes.

Elmer, same here...increase in % but no medical retirement. I believe "the fix" is in and the PDBR was finding too many cases where inefficiencies were made and they put a stop to it. I'll definitely be investigating if I have any recourse...these crazy injustices has to stop.

Unfortunately, the increase doesn't change any pay. Severance was based off of time in service and it is only awarded to those who receive 20% or less. I actually received a 0% rating initially and was upgraded to 20%. Gonna have to obtain counsel and see what's next.

Elmer, I'm in the same boat...you have any ideas on who you will contact for assistance with this? I did contact an organization that I read about on here (I'll follow up with it...the name escapes me right now) that I plan on contacting today to see if they can help me. I believe my first move will be a FOIA request to get all the docs they used to make my determination...and who knows how long that could take.

My first move will probably be to contact Jason Perry. Outside of that, I'll probably be doing a bunch of research to see exactly what I need to do. I've been told that since the PDBR is active duty based, JAG could probably assist! I was under the impression that the PDBR also looked at issues not just related to what was claimed in the PEB, is this not true? They only rated me based off of what I claimed in the PEB, but I had been diagnosed with PTSD before getting out of the army and didn't know to file that in the PEB claim. Either way, I'm going to stay on top of this and I'll relay whatever information comes my way!!

Is Jason Perry someone on here? The name of the org I'm trying to see if they can help is NVLSP. Someone on the forums mentioned this org helped them (I don't remember if it was re: the PDBR).
They don't and that was my mistake...I thought the PDBR would at least evaluate ALL of the items listed in the MEB/PEB...they ONLY evaluate the items found to be UNFITTING. In my case (very short version) the MEB/PEB came back and found me FIT for duty...I appealed the decision adding my diagnosed sleep apnea and they found me UNFIT for duty, not for the newly added my sleep apnea, but for something that was on the original MEB that I was FIT for less than 30days earlier. maparker on here said years ago that the they were maliciously doing this because something like sleep apnea is almost always medical retirement.

Oh, I found and contacted Jason Perry. Oddly enough I've been lurking on this forum for some time now and never came across his contact info...thanks! Hopefully I'll hear some positive feedback from him soon.
I'm also waiting to hear back from NVLSP. I briefly describe my situation to them yesterday so I'm waiting to hear back if they can assist. Options would be nice.

Have a great day all!
