PBDR retirement orders

i recently got a retirement rating from the PDBR, , this was in november 2009, this pass week i got a call from fort stewart georgis retirement center,telling me that they need info from me, because they (the rerirement center is about to cut retirement orders,and after doing so, will forward my records to include new orders to st louis, and to DFAS,and according to the ft stewart retirement center i will be issue a retirement certificate from st louis and i will be retro paid from the date i was given severance pay,(i cal it kick out with wartime(iraq) injuries) which was back in 2006,with severance pay which was recoup by the v.a. the fort stewart retirement center could not answer my question about the severance pay which was recoup by the v.a, It seems that veterans like myself who got a upgrade in retirement from the PDBR , and who last duty station was a med hold, mines was fort stewart, that is where the ARMY is sending the approve upgraded retired documents back to so the orders can be cut form the last transition point,i was also told by the retirement center that i will recieve my retirement briefing over the phone sometime in the coming week, because i do not live in the state of georgia,
 
Thanks for the update. I too got my letter in November but I have not heard a thing yet. I wrote an email to the retirement center from where I got out and they have not replied yet. I did not get my injury from combat so I don't think I will get retro pay....But right now I'm just hoping to hear something.....anything!
 
One of my cases at the PDBR came back with a retirement finding in early-mid November and my client received his orders in the first week of January (or thereabouts, I don't have the exact dates in front of me). Just to give an example of how long it is taking to process issuance of retirement orders. Hard to say if there is any "holiday slowdown" effect to be taken into account.
 
I finaly talked to someone at the retirement center where I got my discharge, they had no idea what I was talking about or what the PDBR was. I mentioned that some people are going to get their retirement briefing over the phone and they said they had never heard of anything like that before. However, he said he was going to research it.
 
I finally broke down and called Ft Riley about 3 days ago...my husband was med boarded from there. The first person I talked to had no idea what I was talking about but referred me to someone that handles retirement orders. The second woman that I talked to was very nice. She said that technically she couldn't tell me anything since I wasn't the member but she did take down all our information and said she would look into it and call us back next week with an update. She was compaltely confused about why the PDBR was being run by the Air Force if my husband was seperated from the Army. LOL

Anyway, she called my husband yesterday with some great news. Apparently his orders were cut in Dec but no one bothered to call us. They said it was being held up becuase of the Survivor Benefits paperwork. That was no where in the package received from the PDBR in Oct when we finally got word of his change in status or we would have filled it out and sent it back in. So now we are working with Ft Knox (We now live in Kentucky so they are handling his case) on the rest of his paperwork and should have our IDs and medical benefits back soon. It has been a long road but hopefully everyone else starts to hear something very soon.
 
It looks like the VA will have to recalculate back payments to those of us who took a severance and now are being retired. I know that in my case the VA is witholding $117.00 a month basically until the day I die. If we have retroactive retirement orders, they will have to go back and pay back every cent of that to me. However, with all the formulas they use these days to compute CRSC and/or concurrent receipt, I have no idea whether they will owe me a bunch of money or if I will owe them a bunch of money. (I'm currently 100% IU with the VA and have been since date of discharge in July '07). Hang in there everybody!!!

after calling the army disability agency several time i was sent a so call, courtesy copy of my retirement orders, so i went to the nearest transition point, with wife in tow to get the i.d card thing and my DEERS ON, well after the transition people check the records(computer) i was not even log in the system as yet, after calling back the army disability agency i was told that my copy is a courtesy copy of orders and that in a bout two weeks i will be place in the system as been RETIRED, my wife almost had a heat attack, be cause we drove so far, and we are speaking of the defense department here. in addition i had to ask about the army retirement certificate i am suppose to recieve, so one is on the way in the mauil to me, then i was sent a flag and a army retired pin, form the army retirement center who process my documents, i have a problem with the way we as injuried combat veterans are been treated AGAIN, for the second time after been screwed out of a retirement the first time around, i though that the PDBR BOARD would have made sure the veterans who got upgraded to a retirement by the PDBR would have a proper retirement ceremony, and not just things arriving in the mail, after all when i was in iraq, doing the dirty work for my beloved country i was given slaps on the back for a job well done.after taking enemy fire, and becoming disable i was first kick to the curve with 20% and severance pay, then the PDBR did me a BIG FLAVOR and upgrade my discharge to a retirement, after i apply, and now i feel like i am just been toss out with a retirement,which like MANY other veterans, i (WE) had to fight for thru the PDBR. DOES ANY VETERAN OUT THERE THINKS THAT I AM COMPLAINING TOO MUCH?OR I SHOULD BE HAPPY WITH THE PDBR AND TAKE THE TREATMENT AND JUST SHUT UP?

Same happend to me but the ID card section I went to faxed a copy of my orders to St. Louis and they had me as retired in the computer system within about 15 minutes. However, I got no pin, flag, certificate or anything else.
 
That really stinks man. Did you go to Rock Island? My command is moving there next year but I decided not to go with them. I've seen a lot of lazy desk jockey civilians working for the Army since my time with them. However, some will jump through fire for you. Good luck man, i hope things work out better for you. I have been waiting 13 months and i haven't even sniffed a fart from the PDBR yet. I don't know if you are interested in civilian (GS) employment but First Army is moving there next year. It's a 3 star command and they will probably have plenty of jobs if you're interested.

On another note, i use to work for the Dept of VA and they have the absolute worst HR people i have ever worked with. I can only imagine how they will hose up the repaying of sevpay that was taken out on the new retirees. They really did a bang up job on the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.

It will all work out....I am keeping my fingers crossed...
 
Old post, but I'm wondering if there's been any change in the average time for orders to follow the PDBR? I was told each stage (orders, DD215, etc.) had 30 days to complete, but I have no data to support this....
