Part perm retirement part temp? Possible?

I have looked every where online for the answer to this... I was permanently retired from the af last year. but I swear in my paperwork it said I may have to be have a reeval done later on for mental health, can't find my paperwork anymore after my move. Is this possible with permanent retirement? how early would they be contacting me to re do the eval? I was told with at least part of my disability that it would forever stay the same I would never have to be reevaled but i'm not sure if they meant only for that one thing or for it all.

I am PDRL with DoD, but the VA did not give me permanent status on my ratings. The VA will re-rate me in several years. I'm 100%+SMC from the VA, but that is subject to change. PDRL means I will always remain retired from DoD.

It is also possible to get TDRL from the military due to one condition that is temporary but have other unfit conditions be considered permanent. The TDRL eval will only be for the temporary conditions and not for the permanent ones. So if those permanent ratings are above 30% your retirement is secure, just your final DoD % can go up or down.

Saying you are permanently retired suggests you were PDRL and the reexam is for the VA, as in the chaplain's scenario. The VA award letter should note when the reeval happens, in my case it will be in 5 years.

What does your DD Form 214 say in the reason and authority blocks? It should say temporary or just retired. If it doesn't say temporary, then you are retired and the periodic physical examination is a VA requirement, not military.
