I know this is probably a question for my PEBLO but I trust you guys more. lol. waiting on my orders and I was wondering how they factor your leave (terminal and permissive) to get your final out date. I only have 7.5 days of leave and I plan on taking the 20 days of permissive leave. Can anyone give me some insight? Thanks.

They do not. Final out date is normally 90 days out, which works in the vast majority of cases. So you will have 62.5 days for clearing and 27.5 days for leave, which should be fine, even if not perfect. If you have a specific reason for needing something different you can request something different.

Well shucks! idk why my PEBLO told me they base your final out on the amount of leave you have :( I was trying to be outta here by February.

Depends on what you mean by final out.

There is a date on your orders, that is the date of your separation. 90 days out. Final out is your last day of clearing, last day you show up to work, get your DD214, etc. That is based on the leave date. So likely your separation date will be in April, but your last day at work will be in March and Jan/Feb will be clearing/formations.

You can also request an earlier separation date if you want, and they will most likely give it to you. That's what I did so that I could be out this month, I got my orders Wednesday and my separation date is January 28th.

So the PEBLO said this because you can separate less than 90 days but def no longer. In some cases people have to sell back some of there leave. I for instance have about 20 days of leave saved up. I will clear my unit, outprocess post then permissive then my 20 or so of terminal. All that will end short of 90 days and i will then separate.

This may be a given, but, don't forget that you need to take into account that you will accrue leave up until your actual separation/retirement date. Count those days when you request a date.

I will also tell you that the 90 days is not hard and fast. I didn't request a specific date initially and mine turned out to be about 120 days out. I am sure it depends on the individual case manager that you get... I requested a date change after I got my orders, I had a reasonable rationale, so they made the change.

Lots of things can happen if you aren't being unreasonable and have a willing PEBLO.

So I got my orders! I actually received them last week while I was in TAPS but I wasn't able to check my email any that week. And I got the day I wanted Feb 26 so I guess my PEBLO was right, the AF does base your leave on the amount of leave you have. Anyway I plan on using my seven days of leave with my twenty days of permissive leave so HOPEFULLY I'll be outta here at the end of next week! I'm sooo happy! :)

Congrats! My effective date is 26 Feb also!

Well looks like my command isn't gonna let me use my 20 days permissive. -_- whatever. lol. I guess its time to start outprocessing even though I have like a month now. and thanks! Congrats to you too! @AEmedic

Hello,
I am new in this forum. I am in step 6 pending decision approval of my PEB compensation case. I just want to know if this mean that the VA finished their part and they sent my claim back to the PEB. If the PEB already received it. How much longer do I need to wait to received my findings? How long does it take the separation process once I accept my findings? It is true that you pay will be on hold once you star the separation process so they can calculate your final paycheck. If any you can help me with my concerns I will really appreciated.
