Orders??

I was told by my PEBLO 1-2 weeks, I signed on January 8 of this year. (I haven't heard anything since)
45 days for me, caught the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s holidays.
Quick question, so my date of separation is showing on as January 27, but I haven't extended because I was told by my PEBLO that I will be extended automatically when I receive my orders. Should I take matters into my own hands and turn in extension paperwork or should I cross my fingers that I receive my orders before then? Any advice on my situation?
I signed my 1180 on 7 Jan and am still waiting as well.
My date of separation is Jan 30th. At first my PEBLO told me to hold off on the extension, but after realizing that my orders weren't ready, he told me to go ahead and do the extension so I would have time to out process and time for PTDY or terminal.

When you go in to sign your 1180 is that when you request a specific DOS? Do we even have a say? I’m hoping to sign mine this week (my claim closed on VA app this morning), and my DOS is 7 Mar, and I’d like to keep it, or if possible, request an even earlier DOS of 28 Feb (to have a compensation effective date of 1 Mar and just sell all of my leave)
