Hello all,

Good news came today, I received my retirement orders from the Air Force. Went to my nearest installation and was advised there is no record of me ever serving in the military... They needed to scan copies of my amended DD214 to send it up the chain and re-establish my deers account. Said it would take about a week - can't wait. Not sure how this happened, but hopefully it gets taken care of accordingly.

Here is my timeline for those wondering:

Submitted package - 5/2015
Awaiting adjudication - 12/2015
Package adjudicated - 10/2016
Received decision from Air Force - 12/2016
Orders received - 7/2017

Good luck everyone!

Congrats!!!! appreciate your posts to my thread as well

Congrats 404!!

And I’ve been kicked out of DEERS a few times where it doesn’t show me anywhere, but that happened while I was on active duty. It was a quick fix for me, so hopefully it’ll be a quick fix for you!!

Thanks, Keebs. Yes, it was resolved in 24 hrs. Now the only thing I'm waiting for is DFAS to figure out my backpay. I received my retirement statement last month, but no word on backpay calculations.

How many statements have you received? You’ll normally get about 3 as it moves forward in the audit process and they come up with more figures. Mine took 3 months to receive from the date DFAS got my orders. But they also messed up my orders and that delayed me 30 days.

I received about 6-10 statements in July for an effective pay date of Aug 1, but all of them were updates to various information in my file. I.e. SBP beneficiaries/coverages, etc. The last one I received was about 2 weeks ago and it stated my ret pay was offset by VA disability since my VA disability is more. However, this was only the case since last year, so my ret pay was more than my VA pay for all previous yrs (which makes me eligible for back pay).

Congratulations on your retirement. I have never completely lost my account, but information has dropped out and had to be restored. Its weird!
