I’ve been reading a lot of posts on this website and I feel like I haven’t gotten the information I need, or a similar timeline for my situation so here is mine.
June 2018: I reported to my MTF for examination and was put on light duty for a month.
July 2018: I had customized inserts made for my boots and shoes due to having low arches.
August 2018 - July 2019: Throughout this period I was on and off light duty.
August 2019: Received orders to Okinawa, Japan.
October 2019: I was put on Limited Duty due to the fact that the arches in my feet had collapsed over time. I have extreme flat feet (Pes Planus). I was then told I was going to need surgery and rehabilitation in order to get back to full duty because the customized inserts I had were not helping.
November 2019: I was medically screened by my medical officer in Camp Pendleton and he let me know I can still execute orders to Japan.
January 2020: Arrived on Okinawa, Japan.
February 2020: Started physical therapy. Was told by my doctor out here I may not have enough time on contract for surgery and one of his assistants told me they shouldn’t have sent me out here on limited duty.
March 2020: I spoke with my new units medical officer and we both made the decision to go ahead and get the process started for a MEB/PEB to be examined for medical separation.
March 4th 2020: Non-Medical Assessment was drafted and emailed to the chain of command for the CO’s portion.
I’ve been having issues with my wrists and other parts of my body. Should I get that checked out by my MTF or should I wait?
My EAS is in February 2021 and my limited duty for my feet expires in April of 2020. I am very unsure on how the process of medical separation works in Okinawa which is why I’m uploading my timeline. Please post any helpful information below. Thanks.
