No profile so not duty limiting

I am a 74D Chemical Ops Spc. I haven't done that job for a very long time. I have been plagued with back and knee injuries that have landed me in the office as the training NCO. I have had duty limiting profiles for my back and my knee but none for my migraines. Couldn't do anything anyways so an extra profile was really overkill. I didn't know then that it would come to this now or else I would have gotten one. The MEB people keep telling me that since I have never been on a profile that my migraines are not MEBable. I have been on 5 or 6 different medications that have done little to nothing to help out. I get headaches almost daily and migraines weekly. I have requested to go to neurology but only just now have gotten a referral that was kicked back due to only having 1 neurologist. He's only seeing epilepsy type issue's and headaches can be managed by the PCM. That is what I was told. I asked to be referred to an off-post neurologist but haven't heard anything yet. AR 40-501, 3-30(g) clearly states that I am to see a neurologist. I just get the impression that they don't want me to go to neurology because then they would have to find it medically unacceptable...it is so frustrating. I am to the point that I'd really to scream!! Is there a regulation that states "no profile, no MEB"? What is the guidance with that? They can't really say it's not PMOS duty limiting since I haven't done my MOS in years.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Chem - once again, aren't the people, docs, and all great here at the "Great Place!?!" It is quite frustrating and I am frustrated for you. I can not believe that. I would talk to your Platoon Leader or something and state the obvious to him or her, "I need a neurologist!" My platoon leader, when I was having my knee problems, took me straight over to the PA I have spoken of and demanded I be seen AND FIXED. She, being a CW2, helped that whole situation along because of the fact they told me and a few others in the Armament shop that we were going to have to wait three weeks to be seen. Some people, along with myself, were still having to run and do all sorts of things because we could not be seen. Basically, she was fed up with the whole thing and took me over there. It was great. My "wonderful" (sarcasm) PA was ticked off, because she said she going to send me to the ER (which many PLT Leaders, SGTs, etc do not want you to do because of the whole paperwork trail from that). Needless to say, she has done that 3 times in the past couple months - it shouldn't need to happen!
So, all in all, I recommend you talk to your CoC about having that get done no matter what, whether you get sent off post or not. If not, travel up to Dallas for the weekend and go to the ER - TriCare has to cover it right? I think so. I know a couple people who have even done that with their pregnant wives because they do not trust the docs here on post! LOL! Wish you luck!

If nothing works for your migraines, then just go to the ER and let them pump you with narcs each and every time you have one. This will show record of frequency. They will respond with something...

I am at that point now. I am ready to go on sick call and the ER daily. The bad thing is that I actually have a job that I like and I hate like hell to put my peers and leaders in a bind. I know that I am going to have to do what's right for me and stop worrying about other people that will not remember me when I am gone. Just my mentality and I have to get over that! I guess they knew my situation when they decided to put me the position of BN Training NCO!

So, any idea about the profile thing? I can't imagine that the evidence that I have not being enough. UGH...

If I am not certifiably crazy now, I will be by the time I'm done fighting these MEB docs!! LOL Welcome to the Great Place!!
