I am going to undergo an MEB soon. Both my profile and my mental health provider say its going to happen soon. I was told all they are waiting on is my doctors final notes to begin writing it.

With that being said my DOS is 18 Mar 2011. Today I received a call about people spreading rumors about me going to be "kicked out" of the Air Force with no benefits. Is this possible? I have a LOT on my medical records, all caused and proven to be done on active duty, so how could they just not let me reenlist after 14 years when the reason for denial is my medical issued caused by the air force?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

On VMPF do you have any reenlistment codes? If not, you do get coded when you enter in to a MEB, but after your done, you get either C coded or no code at all. So I would go about doing whtat you do, not worrying if/when they submit you to the MEB.

Look in vMPF under your DUTY HISTORY->CURRENT DUTY for an assignment availability code and an assignment limitation code. If it isn't there ask the doc where the 422 is at.

I dunno what a 4k is but I think the MEB code is 4T. In any case if you are coded for an MEB they cannot administratively discharge you until the MEB is complete. The one thing I learned in this whole process is QUESTION EVERYTHING! No one is looking out for you in this process except yourself. Look up the code and find out exactly what it means. Find out what regulation holds these codes and look at it for yourself. Read, research and VERIFY everything!

ok so my original point was with a pending MEB, which hasn't been started yet, can they let me go from the air force when my reenlistment is up?

1.10. Medical Hold. The Medical Standards Branch (HQ AFPC/DPAMM) may place a member on
medical hold when he or she is within 60 days of the scheduled non-disability separation or retirement
date and undergoing disability processing. HQ AFPC Service Retirements, AF/DPOB (for Colonels and
Colonel-selects), or the MPF must revoke the non-disability retirement or discharge order before its effective
date.
I'm no expert but I was told that when you are sent to the MEB, retirement orders, discharges, and everything else is put on hold until after the situation is settled. This was not the regulation I was looking for but I think it says the same. If you are Reserves or National Guard, I don't know if it is the same.
I'm confused and worried about all of this as well. I've asked questions and received no answers. I am finding that by reading every post and searching the internet has helped me a great deal. I was told my package went to the MEB yesterday for a cpap machine (c code). I was told that they will pull up all my records and look for disqualifiers which I have many. Maybe I'm over reacting but I would rather be prepared

My wife has major medical issues and we have a 6 yr old as well. I may have to file bankruptcy according to a credit counselor. I feel like I'm dying.
They even talked about taking my drivers license away because I drove into oncoming traffic because of a whistle or noises let gunshots over the radio. They still have not decided I have PTSD even though this all started while in Iraq 2004. I don't want out but feel I need to go. If they choose not to put me out, I use the opportunity to get all the things that I have been hiding into my records and paying bills. Hang in there, we will get through this. Sorry if there are any misspelled words, I'm dyslexic as well but they don't know that.
