Here I am at my wits of destiny confused as hell. I have been in the army 5 years with 1 deployment. I cannot find a thread to assist me so if someone can please help I would much appreciate it. I have been going to behavioral health for some time now dealing with depression and anxiety after my mother died while I was at my first duty station. It has destroyed me completely as a human being. I do not eat except maybe 1 meal a day, I do not socialize or hang out with friends like I used to, I find it extremely devastating to grasp the energy to even get up and go to PT formation or work. I am unable to hold a weapon due to my medication profile. Here's the issue. It is brought to the commands attention that I am unable to assume my role as a military police officer or even a soldier in general because I am constantly distracted by my thoughts at work rather than what the mission is. I take adderall, zoloft, mitrazapine, and buspirone which do absolutely nothing for me and I continue to eat myself away 24/7. My unit decided they wanted to chapter 5-17 honorably that way I can be with my family and not have to deal with the stressors of the military. I feel insulted by this because I have forced myself to suck it up and deal with it in regards to the mission to satisfy the army. I feel I am entitled to a medboard so that I don't have 1 more thing on my mind that is negative such as a chapter or getting kicked out of the army for an illness I possibly could have never had or even prevented if I never joined in the first place. I have been seeing them for a while and they are supposedly reviewing my file to see if I meet the standard for a medboard. Today while I thought this whole time I was diagnosed with sever depression and anxiety, my therapist had told me I have an "adjustment disorder" and that may not have grounds for a medboard. I am catasrophizing this event in my head and see nothing coming my way except a "you tried, and now you're mentally fucked up so get out" coming my way. Someone please help. Am I able to medboard? If BH tells me I'm not and they initiate the chapter what can I do in order to medboard?
