VA 100% 4626 wife 2 kids + SMC
DoD 70%
CRSC 70%
V1/V3 codes on 199

I'm stuck in a huge rock and hard place. I have 19.3 years TPU lawyer advises against me going for formal PEB he worries they give me the "stink eye" and find me fit.

How much am I losing in retirement if just accept these findings or risk Rolling the dice for my 20.

SMC is for loss of organ/cancer PTSD combat related that caused numerous GI and muscular issues the army deemed fit for duty only unfit for PTSD. I have until CoB today to make a decision I have no idea what the right decision is, I feel like I'm being robbed of my retirement

Hello,

Estimate based on the info you provided.

1. 4616 x 70% = 3231 retired pay
2. Retired pay is reduced to zero by amount of VA comp
3. Active duty equivalent, 6.38 x 2.5% = 15.95% longevity multiplier (2% is used for blended retirement program)
4. 4616 x 15.95% = 736.25 longevity portion of retired pay and a CRSC ceiling that is much lower than the 70% CRSC rate found in VA comp tables

Your CRSC based on your info: 736.25

Thanks Ron! I just sent that same numbers (within $5 amount) to him. Glad there is more than one of us that are doing this!

You learned CRSC computations for CH 61 quicker than most I have been associated with.

Hi, today I got a letter confirming my CRSC is approved at 100%
I think I got the calculations right, but figured I would check here if anyone was free and able to double check my math.

I'm a medically retired reservist (tpu)
11.7 equivalent years AD
4199 retirement points
3704 high 36
VA 100%
DOD 100%
VA 100%

So, off the bat retired pay of $3706 x 70% = $2592.80 which is reduced entirely by my VA disability compensation.
11.7 YOS x 2.5% = 29.25% longetivity.

$3704 x 29.25% = $1083.42 aka my calculation for my CRSC

Thanks to anyone who can double-check the math when you're able.

3706 x 75% = 2779.59 Ret pay completely offset by VA amount.

11.7 (your figure) x 2.5% = 29.25 longevity multiplier

3706 (you listed two diff. hi 3) x 29.25% = 1084 or 1083.42 if high 3 = longevity portion of retired pay.

Blended retirement uses 2%.

Your CRSC will not exceed 1084ish*

If the approved CRSC % results in a lower amount, it will be the CRSC. Ahhh just saw 100%.

Ron

*good job
