Okay the story of my case is long and confusing but I put it in down below for those taht might need to know in order to help me. Bottom line, my command is being asked to complete a NMA even though I have yet to be referred to or have a Med board. NMA poped bc I am being PCS'd in prep for eventual MEB/PEB; again, long story. My command is letting me help fill in stuff with the NMA, and I got to this part and didnt know how it should go. Don't want something here to affect a decision down the road or screw me. Here's the statement part:
o. Regarding Permanent Limited Duty (PLD) of active duty members, would you recommend that Navy Personnel Command/Headquarters Marine Corps authorize the member’s retention on active duty in a PLD status, if found unfit? Yes.
(1) Do you recommend PLD unconditionally? Yes
(2) Do you recommend PLD only to complete retirement eligibility? Yes
Part (2) is my main concern. I should not be in the presumtive period for a Pfit decision bc I didn't nor don't have an retirement request in. Should the answer be NO?
HELP!!!
Here is my situation for review: Navy active duty officer who is at 19+6 years next week. Type II/neurologic DCS injury during hazardous duty while performing in a combat related exercise in Nov 2012. Administratively moved from one billet to another due to injuries and medical problems. I still have not made it back to work because of my medical and physical problems. I do not go to work each day and do not drive. Continue therapy weekly. Enrolled in Navy Wounded Warrior.
